Let's go to Cadmus Base... on the Moon! Project: Inhumans was created at the end of WWII by Ezekiel Stark and Max Donovan. The goal was to create a perfect soldier that could survive a nuclear holocaust. Donovan took genetic samples of the Justice Invaders and various alien races and cloned them. Years later, when his funding from C.H.E.S.S. was cut out, they tried to invade Donovan's private laboratory in the Himalayas. His creations, with Black Guardian leading the way, destroyed the intruder's invasion. Later, an intrusion of the Doomed Four on Donovan's base caused a revolution that crowned the Black Guardian king! Keeping his insane "father" in a prison of their own, the new king left with his people for the Moon!

When she sacrificed herself to stop the carnage, the Black Phoenix entity somehow survived. When Mr. Saad cloned Jean, naming her Eve Pryor, he found the perfect vessel for the Black Entity. Still, Eve wanted a family like Jean's, so thus was born the Black Marvel Family!
