Chameleon girl is currently a member of Legion Lost, she will soon be facing off against an army of Harvest's minions. After surviving the Culling, the Legionnaires managed to get a hold of a time bubble and returned home to find it in ruin. Yera's musings suggest that she knows something that the others don't and she has a mission of her own to accomplish. Recently, she was subdued by the members of Project Metamerican alongside Tyroc.
Yera is from Earth, in the 30th century. Yera's family had migrated to Earth early on so Yera was actually born on Earth and not on Durla. This was enough to alter her perception of identity. Yera was an aspiring actress who saw her races' repulsion of artistic expression as a failing and so chose to continue an education in the arts. But due to Yera being of Durlan heritage she was barred by law from taking acting jobs. The reasoning behind this law was that their natural shape-changing abilities would both provide an unfair advantage over actors of other, non-shape-changing races, and moreover, would not require true acting talent to emulate a character, a requirement that students of the art find necessary for a show's value. All Yera ever managed to find were small, out-of-the-way jobs, where she got no exposure and her true acting talents, leaving her to land only a few minor parts in less than favorable Holo-Vids, she soon wound up with the wrong crowd.
Chameleon Girl created by Paul Levitz, Keith Giffen, and Pat Broderick .
Original Continuity: New Earth
Sometime later, Yera was approached by the Imskian rebel Micro Lad and told that Legionnaire Shrinking Violet would be working with them on a secret mission. It would be so secret that even the Legionnaires wouldn't know she was gone. He hired Yera to imitate her and take her place in the Legion. Yera was excited knowing that if she could fool the Legionnaires into believing she was one of their own, no actor's guild would bar her. The switch was made while the real Shrinking Violet was vacationing on the asteroid home of Legion financier R. J. Brande. Yera impersonated Violet for months, along the way entering into a relationship with Colossal Boy and secretly marrying him. Suspecting something was odd about Violet early on, Element Lad and Shvaughn Erin reveal to Brainiac 5 and Chameleon Boy that "Shrinking Violet" is an impostor. Brainiac 5 sprays "Violet" with Cancelite, an invention of Supergirl's that freezes Durlans temporarily in their form. When Violet is unable to size change once sprayed, her ruse is revealed. The Legion rescues the real Violet from Micro Lad and a group of terrorists operating on Imsk with Yera's intel. Despite what happened, Colossal Boy realized he loved her and not Violet, so they decided to stay togethor as husband and wife.
Retroboot: New Earth
The events of Infinite Crisis brought together the Legions of all three continuities. Afterward, the current Legion of Super-Heroes returned to being a close approximation of the original Pre-Crisis team, once again set on New Earth. It is revealed that sometime in the interim Yera has joined the Legion either as a full or honorary member and adopted the codename Chameleon Girl. When planet Earth decides to galvanize their support for the Legion and Superman's true legacy, Yera and other aliens are deported. Brainiac 5 contacts Yera and hires her to infiltrate the new Justice League of Earth who organized the coup against alien life. Yera discovers that Sun Boy is being used to turn the sun red, but is beaten and captured herself by Earth Man. She is later freed and the Legion reforms. Yera returns to acting work, but resumes Legion duties as Chameleon Girl when called upon.

Yera joined them on their mission in the 21st century, where she immediately experienced weird side-effects with her powers. While attempting to return to their home time with Alastor, the time bubble explodes during an altercation. Colossal Boy marries Yera
Colossal Boy marries Yera, who is still disguised as Shrinking Violet. Duplicate Boy has a violent confrontation with Colossal Boy. He backs off when realizes that "Violet" isn't who she appears to be, but he does not tell anyone that Violet is an impostor, and actually a Durlan. Ashamed but still silent about her masquerade, Yera slowly realizes her sincere love for the gentle and caring Colossal Boy. Colossal Boy decides to stay with Yera despite her deception, and soon introduces Yera to his parents on Earth. Although at first she was worried that Gim's mother wouldn't accept their marriage, Yera found her both accepting and approving, giving her a valuable life-cycle pendant just like her own as a gift, one Yera wears almost constantly.
Five Years Later
Five years later after the Magic Wars, Yera is married to Colossal Boy. When reuniting with other former Legionnaires, Yera avoids Shrinking Violet as she had done for years out of guilt for her part in Violet's abduction. While originally resentful of Yera, Shrinking Violet hunts her down and ultimately forgives Yera for being manipulated into substituting as her. This Yera, like the rest of her reality, is erased during the events of Zero Hour.
Post-Flashpoint: Earth 0
After traveling back in time with a number of her teammates from the Legion of Superheroes, the remainder of the team (referred to as Legion Lost out of continuity) is on the trail of Alastor who threatens to release a virus which can destroy all of mankind. After nearly stopping him in Minnesota the team travels to New York City in their continued attempt to track him. Chameleon Girl was seemingly killed in the explosion of the time bubble, but was later able to reform herself.
Powers and Abilities
Yera has the native Durlan ability to change her shape. This is generally limited to the same mass as her original form. She does not take the properties of the forms she assumes, but if it is a biological entity, she can at times reproduce the biological abilities of that thing.
As a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, Chameleon Girl possesses a Legion Flight Ring. The ring gives its wearer the ability to fly, the speed and range of which is determined by the wearer's willpower. It also acts as a long-range communicator (enabling constant vocal contact with other Legionnaires, even across vast distances of space), a signal device, and a navigational compass, all powered by a micro-computer built inside the ring.
