Nicely written, man. Very down-to-earth, yet strangely optimistic. Cool advice too. Thanks.

Are we sure it's AOA Nightcrawler? Or is it 616 Nightcrawler resurrected? How could he be resurrected? Is that a Crimson Dawn mark over his eye?

@spikevalentine: Totally agree with everything you said there.....except I don't feel alienated at all. I'm one of those who is looking forward to it.
1) I kinda appreciate the attempt they're making to make some of the characters more relevant in today's terms.
2) I also appreciate supes not wearing the underwear outside the pants any more.
The rest of the costume changes, they're not MASSIVE changes...in fact a lot of them have already been enacted, they'll be easy to get used to.
3) Continuity-wise....errm....DC's continuity has always been a bit up in the air anyway. Would this really be that difficult to accept?
4) Some of the Wildstorm characters are being brought into the DCU proper...which is kinda cool. People like Grifter, Apollo, Midnighter, et al. (Maybe Apollo could be a Superman clone)

At best, I keep thinking of Warren Ellis' "The Authority". If it goes that way, it might work.
At worst, I keep thinking of Final Crisis. And shuddering.
Totally agree on the bit about DC's writers though. Except for Geoff Johns.
But Marvel does have wayyyyy better talent on roster right now.

@CATPANEXE: That's entirely possible.
@xerox_kitty: I know. His codename actually has nothing to do with anything, really. Just uber-cool hard-ass-ness. He's one of those characters on whom much sense has been imposed retroactively.
I just thought it linked to the half flesh-half metal thing. Seemed to make more sense than "Connecting the future with the past...".
Why would the future be connected to the past with a cable?
@jordama
: thanks, dude.
Also, people in general, please stop making jokes about TV / Pay-per-view. It's all been done. (Woo-hoo-hoo...)

Both, but Marvel over DC any flarking day. (Remember Guardians of the Galaxy? I miss that book.)
I had a lot to say about this but its already been said here like a hundred times.
Marvel's just more gripping than DC right now.  They have characters who you'd consider people you've known for years. (eg. What really attracted me to  Fear Itself was the designs for Ben, Juggie hell even Absorbing Man.)
Their characters are just more fun to read, and even more fun to write, I'll bet. And their stories are pretty involving. I know everything from Civil War onwards, has had ME hooked. (Except for WWH. That was crap.) Marvel's been hitting it out of the park for a while now.
DC seems to be writing exclusively for kids. The characters can pretty much do everything to the extent that they shouldn't even have any problems. Running faster than light? A ring that can create anything? Pushing planets around? Solving any problem with a batarang? I mean, its fun and all, but there's a voice at the back of your head saying "Come on!! What, do you think I'm 5 years old?!?". Its like they're cardboard cut-outs.
 And the revamp is not gonna last very long either. A year, tops, and then superman gets his orig look back.  Everyone gets their old look back. (I hope.)

I guess it comes down to the fact that while I may think Bruce Wayne is the coolest guy in the world, I'm still a Peter Parker at heart.

@InnerVenom123: same here.
@Amegashita
: totally agree

A "Cable" is something that combines the best qualities of a "Rope" (Organic) with those of a "Chain" (Metallic). That's why he was called Cable. It alludes to his innate Techno-organic lifeform-ness. At least that's what I thought way back in the day. (And I thought it was really cool).   I dunno if Liefield came up with the techno-organic aspect of the story. Far as I remember, all he did was draw a really old Rambo in 90's armour.

*sigh*...the whole Timberwolf v. Wolverine debate again.
Ok....Originally Timberwolf looked nothing like he does now. He did not have a healing factor. He did not have enhanced senses. And he looked like this. He was called Lone Wolf. And he led a gang called the "Lone Wolves". (bwahahahaha....)

No Caption Provided
  Clearly, Wolverine wasn't based on THIS. (Cause THIS is LAME.)

Post Zero-Hour, during one of DC's many reboots (/cop-outs), and of course post the huge popularity of Wolverine (and his generally feral powers and demeanor), Timberwolf was given the same attributes. And with every reboot he became more and more like Wolverine, until they decided to make him a  "lycanthrope" this time. Somewhere along the way he also gained a "bad temper".
The only thing he may have beaten Wolvie to was the hairdo.
Everything else about Wolvie (Weapon X, the 3-Claw design, Adamantium, Lack of memory, and the supercool scrapper-dude persona) is original Wolvie.
Only reason anyone even remembers TWolf is his similarity to Wolverine.

And yeah the Guy in the Pic....he does seem to be one of maybe 30 Image characters who were Wolvie rip-offs.

 everything about this smacks of everything that ticks me off about Fantomex. Cheap, pretentious, sensationalist ( sensationalistic? ), superficial-cool (morrison-cool?) and no value apart from shock value, which means if you're past puberty / the mental age of 12 (whichever came first) its not very interesting at all. maybe its similar to the logan-emma smoochery in astonishing a while ago (which had a cool angle), (whedon rullz!!!)....maybe betsy's "misdirected" (whatever the f*** that is) him, and he'll wake up making out with Deadpool. I'm rooting for the latter. (which is something i find disturbing). Just in case, I'm gonna work on an alternate cover with wade replacing betsy. (which I'm sure everyone will find disturbing). (It will however sell a LOT of copies.)

" ... Well there just no way that Spidy stay on the FF4 as a long time replacement. So how much issues do you guys give him? "
I agree with what one of the guys reveiwing this event said in the video,...11 issues...or until the equivalent of 599 (in case I miscounted)...after that comes Fantastic 4 #600 and the return of the Torch.
