GA did appear some 20 odd years before Hawkeye and in my opinion he is better but everything is a re-hash of something else. If Marvel didn't take the p*** out of Deathstroke we would never have had Deadpool, without Justice League there wouldn't have been a counter Fantastic Four, so thank God for pinching ideas, otherwise everything would have started and ended with Superman and that would suck.
@sethysquare: That's fair enough. I'm sticking with the New 52 Ollie for a little bit, see how it pans out. I'm guessing you're following it at the mo' then?
Yeah, like you I'm really looking forward to some awesome baddies. An the TV show for defs :)
Ah this we shall always disagree on. The beard is ridiculously FIT.
Then again how did Ollie spend all those years leading a double-life when someone could have thought... "Oh GA and Ollie Queen have exactley the same build and strange little beard..."
Yeah, it was bad enough the beautiful/infamous goattee has gone, now Queen just seems like a bit of a dick... I DID NOT like the Skylark issues. I'm hoping it gets better soon or it's off my comic book list.
I wasn't happy about any of the replacements to be fair.
Martian Manhunter is the BOSS!
I accept things have to move on in comic books though, but I'll mostly stick with the era of superheros I like best. Hal Jordan was the best green lantern, that'll always remain to be true.
I think the first one wasn't meant to be funny. It was meant to make a statement about the Trayvon case and how "black kid in a hoody" does not mean "thug." The second one I found funny in a depressing way. Neither comic is "racist" for pointing out racism.
I agree. It's not racism to make a statement on how society, governing bodies, the media etc discriminate against people. It is sadly an actual fact.
