Just saw this today and was wondering what the point was? It still has the same exact creative team as it has now (that I'm currently loving). Why relaunch it again?
I think I remember during Chuck Austen's run when Angel scooped Husk up in his arms and started having sex with her in the air in front of Husk's mother...yeah. That. lol
A mixture of Magneto's entire family with some Avengers mutants I think could get Cyclops' dream of instilling fear a reality. Not only does he have Magneto on his team, he has all of his children (two of which are currently not on everyone's favorites list). Firestar was added purely on her Avengers experience as well as the incredibly awesome interaction she'd have with Emma.
Even as a fan of X-23, I have to say that her last few story arcs were pretty meh (and I don't mind Marjorie Liu as a writer) and worthy of cancellation based on the figures. I don't think the fact that it's a female character warrants a stay of execution if the quality is poor.
That being said, Marvel does have a crappy record of supporting female character titles. For all the grief DC gets for Starfire and Catwoman in the New 52, at least they've given Birds of Prey (over 100 issue in one volume), Catwoman (80+ issues), Batgirl (Cassie Cain's title lasted 60+ issues) and Wonder Woman sustained runs. I can't think of one Marvel female character that's had such a chance. The only one I can think of was Jessica Jones' Alias but that was a MAX title.
You're forgetting Spider-Girl, the MC2 version, that had over 120+ issues dedicated to her.
Eye-Scream! Did he keep his powers after M-Day...? The X-Men need some lightheartedness especially after all the gloom and ego hurt fest of Schism. The Avengers have Squirrel Girl, let the X-Men have Eye-Scream.
I remember in one of the Magneto miniseries while he was ruling Genosha that there was a scene or were scenes with Lorna and Pietro frequently corresponding with each other and even one where they hugged. Which series this was I don't remember but I think at least she is friends with Quicksilver. I really don't think Lorna and Wanda have really ever spoken since those Austen issues and that was it.
I don't think Firestar should join the X-Men either although I think the story ideas that can be spawned between her and Emma on the same team could be really interesting. Firestar is way too in her own skin and completely self reliant though.
And seeing that image of almost all of the Peter David X-Factor with David on board to writing was an instant nostalgia jolt and an immediate pickup for me. I can't wait. If anyone can write Lorna, its Peter David.
