What defines a matriarch? A matriarch is a woman who rules or dominates a family, group, or even at times more specifically a state. The “mother” figure who is head and ruler of her family and descendants. In comics toons have either been depicted as the family's matriarch to either a hero or villian as the reason they do what they do. Some famous characters such as Spider Woman show the exploits and challenges of a single mom in hero’s day-in, day-out happenings. Others such as Adeline Wilson, Jerichos mother, train they’re young children in the arts of espionage and hardened combat. And there are those that take the title of matriarch to promote the powers of evil cults such as Mother Mayhem for The Church of Blood. So forget Mothers Day at your own risk.
