You make an interesting point about people with similar abilities. In most cases the other person/hero (Ben & Kane) can take on identities similar to the heroes (much like some of the heroes in batman inc). The only time i can accept a hero taking another heroes identity is if that hero is either dead, gave up being that hero or needs to been seen with that hero to establish that they aren't them. (if that makes sense)

@comkid100: It got me thinking when Bruce came back and said that Dick can be the Batman of Gotham while Bruce be the batman of the world. Plus I saw something online stating that Dick's idenity will always be Nightwing and Batman is Bruce right before the relaunch. I can't remember where though and I also remember when Steve came back and Bucky was Captain America.

I was also thinking IF Ben came back, then who would be the Scarlet Spider? Would ben return to his idenity again or would he take on a new idenity all together. Or for that matter Kaine becoming a different Spider person. Like the Crimson Spider or what?

Yes Bruce and Steves story were similar but the passing of the torch allowed greater character depth for both Bucky and dick. Plus both Bruce and Steve gave them their blessing to continue in their name.

If Ben came back (which i'm hoping for since his death never made sense) and saw Kaine wearing the mantle of the Scarlet Spider there would be a fight and an argument but i think eventually Ben would see that Kaine has changed. IF they both wanted to be Scarlet Spider I wouldn't be upset or annoyed about that but its more likely that Kaine would give it up and re-name him self.

Yh true his son did take over but that doesn't really matter anymore since of the new dc universe. It can be a show of skill and their level of commitment to the job if the side kicks or next generation take the mantle but in Conner's case i never really read about him that much.

@comkid100: I never heard much about Conner after Oliver's return in Quiver. Honestly he could of been called the Emerald Archer or Green Archer.

I think the last thing i read him in was blackest night.

This is a very old, but still good, idea.

I remember when I first saw such a stunt pulled off. Prowler pretended to be Spider-Man for a few minutes in order to help cement that Peter Parker wasn't Spider-Man.

It was a nice little moment.
