Working on a massive George Perez checklist gallery really drops into perspective just how amazing the man's art really is.

@ImaPaqRat: Dude, screw wikipedia. Post your research here. I would LOVE to see some of those old adverts, which are btw "fair-use" and totally postable. I think John Byrne had a hand in one or two of those, and I'd love to see them.

I'm a Pride fan too, but I gotta say Pool takes it.

It's a gimmick, to be sure... but you have to admit it's a great one. BERG is a neat company, and if you check out their web site they have all kinds of clever apps and whatnot. The UV ink would be a neat idea for a mystery or a detective comic with the big reveal written in the invisible ink at the end. I'd like to see this process combined with 3D in some way.

Creators are the rock stars that make the comics we love. Without them we have nothing, so it occurs to me that the creator pages on our wiki should be the best they can be. Let's face it, for the most part they kinda suck. In order to alleviate this I've come up with a style guide for creator pages (with the sage guidance of pikahyper) that seems to work quite well. The H2 and H3 tags go like this:

Personal Life

A short bio of said creator... where they're from, school, family, etc.

Career

A breakdown of the projects to which they've made a significant contribution. The H3 tags here would list by company ie.:

Marvel

DC

Image

Indie

for further breakdowns within the indie section I use the company name in bold.

Awards

List the industry awards the creator has won.

Other Media

Significant projects the creator has accomplished outside of the comics field. In the Howard Chaykin Other Media section, I was able to link to Whiskey's sister site for movies and television easily.

Characters Created

An alphabetical listing of characters created by the writer or artist, H3 tags are again by publisher.

Also, anywhere I've made lists, I've used the unordered list function. The black box pips seem to set things of well visually. Included here are two examples for everybody to peruse. The Howard Chaykin page has pictures included within the article space which I'm thinking of removing because I hate all the extra white space. The Matt Wagner page is without pictures within the article space and I think it works much better. So, what do you all think. This is a wiki after all and by its nature collaborative. Does anyone have any questions, comments, concerns, observations and whatnot?

Okay, I went through your questionnaire, hopefully my answers will help you, however it seems to me that it's skewed a bit more to my reading habits than anything else. I threw my e-mail address in at the end because I'm always up for intelligent discussion about comics. It's a public e-mail that I post here on my user page as well, so feel free to e-mail me if you need any clarification or expansion. One thing that might help you here on The Vines: Like all internet communities, Comic Vine is a tribe. It's a fun, open, highly accepting tribe but it's still a tribe. That stated, I think it might help you to get a little bit more active within the tribe. I see by your profile that you've got exactly 1 follower (me), no wikki points, few forum posts, etc. Join in the fun here, get yourself some more exposure, and some followers. I myself would love to see you blog here about how the thesis is shaping up. The collective brain power on this site is amazing, and the comics knowledge is vast. The Viners will help you with your thesis, but you have to get to know them before you dangle some bait and throw a pre-made form at them. You will get a lot better quality responses, and most likely a lot more relevant information by starting some interesting forum topics here.

It occurs to me that I might also be looking at a secondary account. If that's the case then let everybody know who you are and go from there. Join the tribe man, you're a fellow comics fan. You had your invite from the moment you fell in love with the age old argument of who would win in a fight Superman or Batman.

I don't think I've ever read anything Sterling Gates has written, but I tend to be wary of anyone who says, "One of my favorite artists from my childhood" and "Rob Liefeld" in the same breath.

@BoOMbOoMpOw: Okay, this is the problem when you get your news from IGN and not DC's official news blog The Source. IGN pulls its news from The Source Blog, but it edits it down and you miss a lot of stuff. Further down in the article they posted this press release.

In the wake of our announcement of a historic line of new #1’s within the Batman family, many of you noticed that while several of the titles and characters spun out of the Batman, Inc. storyline, there was no mention of that series itself - but there’s a reason for that: Grant Morrison’s BATMAN, INCORPORATED series will return with a new issue #1 in early 2012.

Grant Morrison had this to say about Batman, Incorporated:

“Batman, Incorporated will continue through to Issue #10 and August’s shocking season finale that changes the Batman status quo yet again. The series will take a brief hiatus while I work on a major new project to be announced shortly. Batman, Incorporated returns next year with me, Chris Burnham and Batman: Leviathan, the epic 12 part conclusion to my 6 year Batman saga. Don’t miss it!”

@Blurred View: Okay, here's my thing about the "Characters Created" section idea. I think as long as the writer is credited along with the artist this would be fine. In most cases there's at least two creators for any given comics character, and I think the section should reflect that. Thoughts?
