I don´t thi k it was necessary at this moment i mean, look at the most recent storylines. It would absolutely make no difference if Mary Jane was there. The thing is Quesada wants to work in their relationship creating it. I´ll explain, Joe Quesada didn´t wanted to work on Stan Lee´s version, so he wants to create a new one. I see that as completely unnecesary. Whta´s the point? after all, the spider-marriage was the most original of all, he (asides with superman) was the only superhero able to live a normal marriage, instead  the rest of the heroes are unnable to have normal relationships (ussualy their girlfriends/wives gets killed or leaves them after seeing they will barely compete against their secret i.d.)so i am trying to find a good reason to retconn Spider-Man and i just can´t find it.

I´ll go with these stories: 1.-Kraven´s Last Hunt, because it gave Kraven the respect he needed as a regular villain in Spider-Man. 2.-Who killed Jean De Wolff? He works with Daredevil,(one of my favorite superheroes). For the first time, it was an adult storyline for spidey, and finds out that Matt Murdock is Daredevil, creating a solid friednship with Hornhead. Not to mention the way he reacted towards the death of his friend. 3.- The Night Gwen Stacy died. It was a shocker on it´s time, something never seen. Before that, superheroes were like untouchable, nothing bad ever happened to them. This storyline changed everything. 4.- Parallel lives. Although it was a graphic novel, it was very touching, and the idea of MJ knowing that peter was Spidey, was not a common situation, it took me by surprise, at least me. 5.- Back in Black. Spider-Man in all the sense of the word, economical problems, Aunt May dying, Spidey looking for the bad guy and kicking his butt, what else can i say?.
