To me the perfect model for a big event (that could have been applied to a company wide event) was Sinestro Corps War. GL and GLC handling the main story and one shots as tie-ins. I really hoped that Blackest Night would be handled the same way, with the main arc in Blackest night 1-8 and 1 or 2 issue tie-ins to expand on necessary plot points. Unfortunately they're trying to squeeze every penny they can out of any book they have due to all the BN hype.
...thing is, if you're not buying a certain book (cuz you don't like/care about the characters), then Blackest night tie-in or not, you STILL wont buy it!
I'd be willing to get as many tie-ins as they'd like to make, as long as they're separate from on going titles. and leave each monthly series alone... having them all get a tie in is beating the horrse dead, in my opinion. so yeah, you can hear my red ring go "RAGE" right about now...
OMG?! are those...are those ACTUAL costumes?!?! hmmm.... i wonder if it was the Watchmen movie that made them realize that you CAN have costumed super heroes on tv? Damn, I'll have to tune in again...DAMN!
one question though...can we have the Superman costume now, instead of the NEO-Kent from Smatrix-ville one?
" I think this looks incredible! But, didn't Image do an arc almost exactly like this in the 90's where all the heroes had to unite to take down Chapel when he returned from hell? Anybody remember that? I think the arc was called Extreme Sacrifice. The character design for "Satan" Spawn looks very similar to Chapel's, too. "
OK....just checked it...and it's slightly similar but not the same thing (only heavy hitters seem to be planned for Image United unlike E.S.) and me thinks Simmons looks waaaay cooler than this Chapel dude!

Really?! I was never really into Image back in the 90's... i'm gonna have to investigate!
