Unknown - Year 2013
Innumerable patients screamed in horror. Many of their ramblings pertained to a certain reality. And in the midst of mental terror there walked a peculiar woman. "You are death!" To the naked eye she appeared normal, but for those aware of her aura - they knew better. "You work for her!" Her posture remained apathetic, truly unconcerned for those victimized by multidimensional abuse. It wasn't her problem. She had a far more pressing matter at hand. A matter that couldn't be left unchecked.
"Good morning, sir." Her plain Jane attire presented herself as medical wallpaper, an intellectual tactic her superior had taught her some time ago. "I apologize for the inconvenience, but your information has you down as deceased." A true medical professional could of handled this better, but she didn't care.
My boss wouldn't be happy, but I have no time for an incoherent boy. I gotta jog his memory, and see if this is the anomaly I seek. The newest pawn in her latest game. C'mon boy. Speak! It's only a matter of time before he shows up. The one who's got a knack for causing trouble.
"Oh you don't remember? That's bad. That's really bad", she caressed his smooth forehead so delicately, "I'm so sorry sweetheart. You've been dead for some while. Quintus and Noah. Do you remember them?" Her words were piercing, but he didn't react. "Please, don't cry." She acted motherly in his time of dependence, while tears so genuine slid down reddened cheeks.
He didn't know her, he didn't know anyone. In this moment of loneliness he attached himself to the closest version of parenthood. "Tell me son...is there anyone I can call?" This was her way in. Her doorway into a realm of possibilities. The position her training had prepared her for. "Any family you can trust?" She edged closer, intimately gazing into his ocean blue eyes.
