Tell me about this evil elephant dude named Jack the Drought! I don't know when the last time a comic has instilled such an emotion of hype in me.
First of all, this dude is ruthless. He does not care about the lives of innocent citizens of the countries he crosses. He's looking for a "samurai," who is actually a ninja, and because he might probably NOT be on the island, he goes on a rampage. Secondly, this dude ate a Devil Fruit of an extinct creature, in his case, a freaking MAMMOTH!!! Personally, ever since Water 7, Zoan type devil fruits have been my favorite types because of the sheer variety of animals we have seen. Before they were meh, although, Chopper and Lasso have been nice cases, one eating a "Human Human" fruit which sounds cool, and another eating a 'Dog Dog' fruit: model Dachshund. And the fact that it was a sentient gun eating a fruit (lol).
Anyway, since then, we have seen some of the best fruits in the series, a Cheetah, a dog-dog model wolf, a Giraffe (which is a cow).... I don't know... a freaking T-REX... so far, I like Kaku the best, but yeah. Also, the Mythological Zoans such as Marco, who became a Phoenix. If I were to eat a devil fruit, it would be a Zoan type for sure. It would be a "Dino Dino" fruit model: Archeopteryx, only because it would be another prehistoric type. I would still be a dinosaur, in the modern sense of the word, but at the same time, I'd be a bird. Pterodactyls suck, and this one has more imagination lol. Just me though.
Sorry for sidetracking.... so like I was saying, this dude is a FREAKING MAMMOTH!! I can't wait to see they Sabretooth, the eventual Dodo bird, even though it's not prehistoric... it is one of the most famous extinct animals though lol. Also his name is Jack, the Drought,one of the three beings labeled as the "calamities." Yikes. The Three Calamities. Such an awesome name for bad guys. Jack is an underling of Kaido's, Kaido being a "Yonko," one of the four emperors of the seas, and on the short list of absolutely most wanted people in the world. I had a feeling his bounty would be pretty freaking high, especially this late in One Piece, but I didn't expect we would see someone with a 10-figure bounty in the saga until we got to Kaido. That is right people, this Calamity, Jack the Drought is worth ONE BILLION berries. And he is only an underling of Kaido. I can only speculate Kaido's bounty, as well as the rest of the Yonko. It sucks that we won't know anything for a couple of weekss, since there will be a break (be well, Oda. I know you work hard as hell.), but still what we have seen so far has been hype. And guess what? Next chapter, we'll see Jack in a new, presumably stronger form.
Jack's people have also revealed something I've been wondering, and that is the possible effects of artificial Devil Fruits. I know Momonosuke has eaten one, and he can turn into a Dragon and such, but since these are man-made, and not natural mystery fruits, the side effect of them is that the people of Jack's army, who I assume have eaten these man-made fruits cannot fully manifest themselves as full animals, as we have seen their arms turning into animal parts such as a wolf's head, and a crab's pincher. I'm glad we see some side effects concerning them. It seems Momonosuke is a unique case, and also there is the fact that he ate a fruit that made him a dragon, so maybe they want to kill him to get that fruit like how the Flare-Flare fruit resurfaced after Ace's death.. Who knows lol.
Anyway, that is all from me for now. So far this arc has been good, we still don't know about Sanji and Cesar, so, yeah there's that. Tell me, you guys: if you could be an extinct, or mythological Zoan type devil fruit use, which animal would it be? I can't wait to read your thoughts. See you guys on the flip.
