One day someone will have to put together a companion guide of all stuff Abrams has had to explain in interviews that he couldn't successfully convey in the film.

This. I don't care what creators say in interviews, tweet or post on tumblr, if they fail to show it in the actual medium, they fail. I wonder whether the term show don't tell will soon mean show in the product don't tell in a different medium.

I agree for the most part... if you need to refer to something outside the film for understanding/explanation, then it means the film was lacking.

The thing about Abrams is he does it intentionally. Star Trek 2 was like that. There's a Khan comic mini-series that fully explains Khans origins, and it makes the movie so much better, however it doesn't forgive, and it doesn't mean ST2 gets a pass.

But compared to SW7... while I know Abrams pulled the same stunt with SW7, it did not feel as lacking as the ST films did. Some of these things like 'what are the ashes'? Really? Who gave a crap? Not understanding where dirt came from ruined a whole film? If it was major story point that affects the plot (like Khan having had plastic surgery to change his appearance), then I agree.

Other things in SW7 without explanation is because its presented as a mystery that's supposed to be solved in later films, at least that's how I felt about it. I didn't feel like something was missing that didn't make sense.

Again, in no way am I defending Abrams, just saying its not quite that bad in regards to SW7.

Drug deals and old military connections, eh?

Sounds like someone at Marvel has been watching some Daredevil Season 2!

Which, I'm saying is a GREAT THING!

The STORY is what is supposed to keep people talking and interested. By making that moment a cliffhanger means the showrunners don't have enough faith in their story. "We gotta do something to make people tune in next season"

It is what it is, there's a business ad-selling aspect no doubt, but its the equivalent of writing for the WWE.

Excellent season really all around except for those uber-cheap lazy moments.

Not saying cliffhangers are bad... Breaking Bad, Dexter... even Lost and Battlestar (to a point), made an art out of cliffhangers. That art is lost on TWD writers.

Some may see it as a copout, but I'm thinking Carol or Morgan, seeing as how their stories were built up this season. Think about the season where Beth and Tyrese died, a lot of build up went into those characters, only to take them away.

Also think about the irony...Negan killing Morgan, then allowed to live and locked up in the cell built by the man he killed, who didn't believe in killing.

What's the reason for this Civil War again?

Too boost sales with a crossover that will show the heroes hating each other so that a month or so after that the heroes can face a bigger menace that will show them coming together and forgiving each other. Basically it's for money and only money.

Not to mention movie-tie, plus a way to explain why Civil War the movie has no basis in either Civil War comic series. Heck, they could have named the film 'Captain America: Secret War' and it would be equally as insignificant.

"Oh, the movie? Yeah, that's a whole other Civil War where like 5 dudes fought another 5 dudes and... HEY! Spider-man!"

Do not mess this up again Disney!!!!........ Or Else!

FALSE.

George Lucas messed up that last Indiana Jones movie, it was still Lucasfilm then, he hadn't sold it to Disney yet.

Even Spielberg, very tactfully, pointed the finger at Lucas' awful script.

The chances of a new Jones movie being way better than the last is high because it features 100% less George Lucas.

If the SW prequels wasn't enough to convince people that Lucas sucks as a writer, surely Indy Jones 4 should have.

Funny you mentioned Ferris Bueller... because DP literally ends on a Bueller joke. Seriously.

lmao at 'unnecessary swearing'.

The uber violence? Bullet holes, blood, broken bones...No problem.

The bare titties and vagina? Definitely not a problem

But OH JEEZ I counted one too many "F***S" being used in this movie and that is just SOOOO uncalled for! My sensibilities... are shattered. I need more titties to make up for it.

Some of you are outright psychopaths.

In my book, I only see 4 out of 7 prior X-films (including Wolverine movies) as being good or decent enough to wanna watch over again.

That's a 57% win rate. If you're in school or can remember school, please remind me what grade 57% garners you.

And yeah, that's why people approach X-movies cautiously. I'll see it, but like all the prior Xmen films, I'll go in with the lowest expectations. Hopefully the movie is better than the trailers, the trailers are trash in all honestly. Take stock of positive comments and they are all based on aesthetics. Psylocke looking like comic book Psylocke is not any great indicator that the movie is going to be good.

Deadpool is the bring shining star of hope for the X-films, not First Class Bryan Singer junk.

Will give it a chance, hopefully subversive will mean more like Twin Peaks and less like Gossip Girl.

Hey, maybe they'll adapt Archie VS Predator for an episode, ha!
