My History with Comics
My dad has a diary with every book he's ever read in it. Inspired by this, gonna try and list every comic I've ever picked up from as young as I can remember....may take a while...may have big gaps...

First comics I ever read. I got 50p pocket money a week and this cost 35p, leaving me 15p for sweets :) I was a member of the Dennis and Gnasher club for years!
My younger brother, to rival my love of the Beano, would pick up the Dandy, I would read both and always insist that mine was better :)
Every Christmas, I'd get a Bash St Kids Annual to compliment my Beanos :)
My dad's answer to the Beano, written in broad Scot's English
A geordie native that went national. As a kid, you couldn't buy this due to it's raunchy and expletive content, but every so often, one would make it into the playground, and the owner would become legend for a day.
my first TPB's I'd get these at my local market, where my mam had a stall.
Bells of Doom, The Abomanable Snowman and Spider-man and Friends, Power Records
Batman, Power Records
Superman PO Box 65, Power Records
Star Trek: The Time Stealer, Power Records
Werewolf, Power Records
Frankenstein, Power Records
Hulk at Bay, Power Records
I was always nervous to walk into the 2 comic book stores near my college; I assumed they'd be full of elitists that'd sense me out as a noob and have me punted immediately....so my first comics purchase was this...it was indie, and arty, and alternative, and would hopefully make me appear formidable to the girls behind the counter at Travelling Man :P
This was another early purchase, still wasn't brave enough to check out the "new releases" stand by the counter, so found this in the back issues. Loved the artwork.
After getting some confidence, I went for some more mainstream titles. Livewires was my first full set of anything, bought issue 5 and ordered the rest immediately.
Think this was in their bargain box one day...great series, whoda though x-23 would live on to this day!
Wanting more stuff like Kabuki, I came across this. Wasn't what I'd hoped for.
Loved this series, sadly didn't complete it til last year as back in 2006, this wasn't popular in my store, and didn't get picked up after it's second issue.
Gambit has always been one of my favorite x-men, and after picking up all these weird indie titles and considering my self a comics fan I considered it a huge injustice that I wasn't following him...so picked this up.
My first ever graphic novel! Was a huge fan of the Crow, to this day the original means a lot to me.
Still obsessed with my indies, I picked up this adorable little number. It ever featured the authors private email address in the back so he could receive feedback. Simpler times!
Obsessed with the movie in college, I turned to the prose and graphic novel formats.
Much like Gambit, I couldn't miss out on Superman
A girl I used to work with brought me back some crisis crossover books from Midtown Comics after her first trip to New York along with a Superman lunch pale. Still have them!
Superman got me interested right back to Action Comics 1
A taste for the golden and silver age got me into silver supergirl
Searching the old longbox stores and charity shops in my area, filled a lot of comic gaps in the 70's, 80's and 90s for me
Jumped onto Iron Man after picking up a bunch of stuff from the 90s at a market stall
Listening to Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman and ISellComics while revivivng my love for all things comics got me interested in Batman, someone I'd previously never shown an interest in.
Hearing that one of Walt Flanagan's favourite Batman books...was a swamp thiing book, I quickly got into Alan Moore's work.
There was a time when I preferred him to Superman!
After reading The Physics of Superheroes, I picked up as many of the comics it referenced as I could afford/find. An amazing book.
more physics of superheroes

Picked these up at Dave's Comics in Brighton (great store)

Got heavily into Frank Miller Daredevil after picking some up in a pop-culture store in Reading
