That looks nothing like Power Girl, the woman had the most powerful legs and foxy hair.

I bet she still kicks arse though.

If you're looking for darker graphic novels and comics, I'd suggest Sin City, Swamp Thing and Fell. You're likely to fall in love with Ben Templesmith's artwork so have a look at the stuff he draws for as well, very edgy and distinctly grim stuff :)

Also the 'Batman and Robin' story arc by Grant Morrison is great (they're pretty easy to get hold of on eBay). Frank Miller and Kevin Smith also write pretty awesome Batman stuff.

If you loved V for Vendetta and you like Alan Moore's style then Watchmen should be high on your list to read, also From Hell is ridiculously good (these are both one-off graphic novels). I couldn't recommend Alan Moore if I tried!

AND Waterstones is a pretty good shop to get graphic novels from and if they don't have what you're looking for they're usually more than happy to get one in for you!

Hope this all helps and I haven't just gone on at you :) welcome to CV Kindredfool!

@rpgr:

There are lots of great smaller characters that could benefit from this. I'm liking the idea of odd team-ups! The thing is I love Atom, Black Canary, Zatanna, Plastic Man, Martian Manhunter but they were never gunna get their own New 52 series. I know there is three Justice League series but it would be cool to have an all-female or random team-ups arc.

Green Lantern seems to have an awful lot of series now as well. I love GL, don't get my wrong, but seriously, four different stories!? The New Guardians seems like a cool idea but Star Sapphire's do my head in - powered by love, it's like watching My Little Pony or something.

Cancel Dark Knight and replace with a Brave and the Bold type title to showcase characters that can't hold a monthly

I'm loving that idea!

Cancel one Bat-title and replace it with Spectre book.

I hear that!

OR Martian Manhunter books in place of either one of the Batman or one of the Green Lantern arcs.

Most superheroes have recurring supervillians though, meaning you'd only ever get a couple of good storylines from each villian, if you were to simply kill them off. Also Batman, Superman and pretty much all of the superhero world would then become vigilantes working against the police because they just don't believe in killing people.

Not to mention the fact that many heros have been 'under the influence' of strange powers that have made them, for a time, villians themselves. In which case Green Lantern, Spider-Man, Gambit, Angel, Captain America, Jean Grey, Daredevil, Quicksilver, Bat-Girl, Sue Storm...... etc etc would have to be subjected to capital punishment?

I can see where you're coming from but I don't think it'll work in the comic book world. I think rehabilitation is a better way, just look at how many of these villians are actually insane!

Hal Jordan, Green Lantern - that man seriously does not care about his own well-being! He was also chosen by the Guardians of Oa for his fearlessness and once told the Flash that he was fearless because he had absolutley nothing to lose.

In the War of Light he had to overcome working with deceased friends and sworn-enemies in order to win the fight over evil.

Even as Parallax he sacracfices himself to save the world.

Bravest Lantern/superhero ever!

@GamerGeek360:

I agree, love stories so seldom happened between superheroes.

I'd love to see a Black Canary / Green Arrow movie. Now there's another character who SHOULDN'T be played by Scarlet Johanson.
