I'm kind of hoping for an easter egg to Ezio or something.

Depending on what actually happens in the movie, They're probably thinking that Rey would be a better Jedi despite the concept art showing her wielding a light saber.

LOL at the people who say Boxing is more practical.

What's so practical about not able to kick, grapple, or groundfight? Seriously, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, and Karate would wreck boxing.

Now Kickboxing, well, it's just Muay Thai with less strikes. Seriously.

Why would Karate wreck boxing? Karate is not practical (maybe in the movies it is). Here is a video of Karate guys vs Boxers; the Boxers pretty much win unanimously.

Karate is hardly useful in real life; as a self defense it's sub-par; and is there any evidence of Wing Chun even remotely being as succesful as Muay Thai? (also, Muay Thai >>>> Kickboxing). The most effective forms are probably judo/BJJ with some striking combination.

What you need to realize is that there are different types of Karate. Some styles include Shotokan, Okinawan, Goju-Ryu, Kyokushin, Kempo, Shuri-Ryu etc...

A lot of these different styles teach different things. They all have their own concepts and techniques. If you ever heard of Kyokushin Karate fighters, they do pretty well against boxers. And Kyokushin itself puts more emphasis on Full-contact sparring than probably any other Karate system. Other Karate styles put more emphasis on performing Katas than actually learning how to fight in street fights. It's not the Karate system itself, it's how you're taught to apply your techniques to real life situations and lots of sparring, which is what Kyokushin does. We don't know how the Karate students in the video were trained or how much they sparred.

Also, if you're going to post a single video to prove Karate's bad, then let me post a single video to prove Karate's useful:

@gbandit: Then tell me, why did Bruce Lee feel the need to create his own superior martial art?

Bruce lee wasn't a Wing Chung master though. He only learned Wing Chun for a short period of time, he only learned about 2 out of 6 forms, which gives you an idea of how much he actually learned. Using Bruce to discredit Wing Chun isn't good Evidence. And Jeet Kune do isn't a Martial art, it's a philosophy of using different fighting techniques.

Interestingly enough, it was reported that Bruce Lee practiced Siu Nim Tao (The first form of Wing Chun) everyday even after he started his Jeet Kune Do classes. He even created his own form which took a lot of stuff from the original Wing Chun forms.
