This is still an unsubstantiated rumour with no names, let alone an official source to it. So I don't believe the rumour itself just yet. Having said that, I would not be surprised to hear that Batfleck has trumped Cav-El once again in marketability, stability and appeal. Warner Bros have never been shy about expressing a much greater approval for the dark, gritty and mature themes of Batman's world over Superman's virtues as a character and franchise. MOS backlash is still strong even 2 years after its release, so it would be a safer bet to promote Batfleck over Cav-El in DC's Cinematic universe.
Can't wait for the Team Cav-El mascot to flip out over this and dismiss this as a baseless rumour since it represents what he fears most for about the DCEU's direction.

Anyway, I was afraid of this too. I understand how Warner Bros. operates and Batman is probably their most lucrative DC property but come on... Assuming this rumor is true.
