Greatest & Most Iconic Capes!!

Just for for fun, off the top of my head. There has been threads dedicated to this, but I decided to make my list!

The greatest and most Iconic capes, in no particular order. Also important to point out that some of the characters are not insanely popular and renowned....but still have sweet capes/cloaks!

Any feedback is much appreciated!

List items

  • the cape is alive (along with the whole costume) and even has it's own name. The flowing cape is integral to the character's overall look.

  • Bruce just wouldn't look the same without it. That cape just makes the costume.

  • another element of an iconic look. The cloak just works well, and added with the eye of agomotto serves a distinct purpose.

  • The cape is an important piece of Fate's look, and I personally always was a big fan. Was upset when they essentially took it out of Jared Steven's look.

  • now, currently they have Kal without his iconic cape....but a list of this nature cannot exist without including one of the most well know caped looks in comic lore. The image of a hovering/flying Superman and his billowing cape is well know across the board.

  • maybe not necessarily a cape....or as well known (maybe more so lately, since he has been in episodes of the current Spider-Man cartoon) but damn....that thing is cool. Cloak's...cloak is his powerset, and a cool one a that.

  • there have been versions without it, but Thor's cape is well know enough and part of his look to make the cut.

  • the original short cape with the flowers? laaaame, but associated with the big red cheese well enough. The more current one with the hood is a great revision IMO.

  • the flowing green cape and hood (and can't forget those great gold clasps) are as much a part of doom's look as his armor.

  • her cape has changed over the years, but generally a main part of her look, and the character is well know enough to make the cut.

  • Erik's most signature look is his famed helmet, however the cape is deserving enough to be mentioned.

  • the hood and cape really make the character, and add to the overall look quite well. Ha, other that that.....he doesn't rock much clothing at all.

  • generally associated with the character (not always) is the yellow cape (except for the Red Robin, obviously). And the initial design of the character with the yellow cape is definable iconic.
