@BumpyBoo: It saddens me that Cream made your list but Bunnie did not. I now feel like an old man, Sonic-wise :)

Not old at all - I prefer to think of it as having a broader frame of reference ;)

@BumpyBoo: Heh. Fair enough. Sonic comics were my childhood, and I actually won a statue a year or so ago for writing a blog in which I suggested a good Sonic game should feature those characters.

@akbogert: Oh wow, congratulations on that :) I remember those actually - was always quite a fan of the cartoon when I was a kid too. You know suddenly...I need to dig out my Mega Drive :D

@BumpyBoo: There were actually a couple different cartoons, and a few movies (including at least one anime one). And yeah, I still have my Genesis (I believe they're the same console, just different names?) with the original Sonic & Sonic 2. Hooked it up to an HDTV in college and relished in the nostalgia. Maybe it's time I try that again myself, now that you mention it.

@akbogert: Then I respectfully bow to your superior Sonic knowledge hehe! I had no idea he had been adapted to screen so many times. And yes, they are the same console - I have my original Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3D for it, but my favourites are probably Streets of Rage and Road Rash. I still play those (showing my age too now!) :)

@BumpyBoo: Well I never managed to actually see the cartoon that had the Freedom Fighters in it, but the one with just Sonic and Tails (Scratch and Grounder were the robot goofs Robotnik used) was the one I grew up actually watching. I've not played Sonic 3D, but I had Sonic & Knuckles on PC (fun fact: also read a handful of the Knuckles comics, had a crush on Julie-Su, etc.). And my Genesis came with a 6-Pak cartridge, so I also had Columns (the Tetris rip-off), Super Hang-On (a motorcycle game), Revenge of Shinobi, Golden Axe, and (here's my point) Streets of Rage. Though I was only 5 at the time, so I wasn't really supposed to play the more violent games. My Dad played them sometimes though :)
