I tHink Bruce would genuinely donate more to cHarity and Lex would do more slimy decisions because it is profitable like real companies today do. Wayne would be ideally less ricH because He cares more about making a difference tHan being ricH but tHat doesn't mean Lex is WAY more ricHer. He can easily be a little bit ricHer.

But Lex cares for his image and giving money make you look good.

Celebrities that do terrible thing give a bunch of money and do everything they cant to give other people money, it makes them looks really good.

Sting must be a mosnter since he does this more that any other human.

Lex has tons of Government contracts, he practically built (and owns) Metropolis (which is richer than Gotham), he has illegal funds, and probably owns more of his company...and his company probably has more patents to boot. So yeah, he's richer than Bruce

But Bruce family has beign richer for a longer period of time.

@deaditegonzo: Lex also uses alot of his wealth taking on superman

Bruce also has contracts various vehicals, armors, medical tech, etc,etc tons of stuff thats not lethal that bruce would have no problem selling to the government

How is metropolis richer than Gotham? Gotham is basicaly the New York of DC comics

and Bruce cares about his business too its his families legacy which he use not only to fund batman but to create jobs, fund hospitials, etc,etc not only that Bruce owns most of Gotham

@lordofthenorth: Metropolis is the "City of Tomorrow". Its one of DC's most advanced cities. Gotham is sort of ghetto.

Every anti-Superman weapon Lex makes would be attractive to the Government. Theyd pay nearly anything to be able to take Supes down.

I dont believe Bruce would sell his gadgets, but I could be wrong.

As far as caring about his business, ive never gotten that impression, but once again I could be wrong.

@deaditegonzo: Gotham isnt a ghetto are their ghettoes in Gotham yes but Gotham isnt a ghetto like i said it the like new york its a center of wealth both old and new

Yes the government pay alot for the stuff the Lex makes but he wouldnt give them any of the good stuff seeing as he is the one who wants to take superman down

Most of batmans gear is Wayne tech prototypes that are to expensive to be put in the field but he would have no problems selling stuff a couple generations behind them

he does care its just that when he is Bruce Wayne he has to act like he dosnt care

Lex probably is richer and rightly so. Lex is a self-made billionaire, Bruce was born with money. Lex is much more involved with his company than Bruce is with Wayne Ent. As a result, Lex probably pushes his company harder to innovate than Wayne because Lex is a man who always strives to be the best at anything and everything. Bruce doesn't really care about Wayne Ent. as long as he can use the money and tech to fight crime and give some of the profits to charity.

Batman is only interested in his crime fighting. Lex is in the office every day (when he isn't in prison) developing new tech himself or acquiring other companies that would benefit himself. How much time does Bruce actually spend at Wayne Ent.? He's either playing the playboy, doing philanthropy stuff, or doing Batman stuff.

Plus, Lex is a ruthless bastard. He has no sympathy for the competition. He'll ruin another person's livelihood, if he can get some small benefit out of it. Bruce is at heart a good person, that kind of personality is no conducive to running a top company.

New 52 Bruce Wayne actually has a 'rebuild Gotham' project going on. You can see him announce it in Batman #1. I'd say he is passionate about his company because his ultimate goal is to help Gotham and he can do it a lot better if WE is in good shape, not to mention the family legacy.

That's about philanthropy not his company's success or profits. Like I said, Bruce isn't willing to be a ruthless businessman like Lex is because that would require him to destroy dreams for the sake of profit.

@rdclip: Batman spends as much time as he needs to at WE like Lex; Batman can work from anywhere and when his out being Batman he dosnt have to fight supervillians every second so it wouldnt be strange if he thought of buisness and inventing new tech while jumping about gotham punching people in the face

According to Superman in the previous Superman/Batman book, while booting Lex out of his presidency; Bruce has more money than Lex does, but that Lex is far more callous about using it (to bribe people, for instance).

Oddly enough when Superman had beaten out the power of Lex's suit, he ended up in his old LexCorp office and noticed it was empty save for Batman who informed him that Lex's CEO had sold everything to Bruce leaving Lex penniless.

Bruce is wealthier, though I'm sure Lexcorp turns a better profit. Wayne Enterprises was founded generations ago, compared to Lex building his company from the ground up. Compound Interest is the greatest superpower of all.

Lexcorp is 1 company. Wayne Enterprises owns dozens of companies.

There is no way its more profitable.

I'm no expert, but didn't Wayne Enterprises BUY Lexcorp at one point?

Doesn't matter, Lex earned every single penny he made. Bruce inherited it. Lex will always be a better man than Bruce, the only place Bruce clocks in better is in having a heart and not being as arrogant.

I would say they are similar in terms of wealth. Lexcorp may have an edge but this can be attributed to Bruce using his company for alot of charity work and refusing to take on military contracts.

Still that Bruce gives more money dont mean Luthor has more.

This is based on the concept they are equalkly rich, so the guy who gives more money is less rich.

I would think that Luthor's wealth would fluctuate wildly depending on current level of embezzlement vs. legal fees. I think LexCorp is clearly bigger than Wayne Enterprises, however, as they want to portray them as the underdog fighting off acquisition. However, Lex's wealth isn't necessarily tied to LexCorp's wealth.

@lordofthenorth: And? Bruce started off with a billion, turned it into 8.5 billion according to Forbes. Lex was poorer than farm-boy Clark Kent, now he's the most powerful man in the most powerful city in the world. Again, Lex wins.

@superguy1591: sorry forbes is BS and even if you went by forbes Lex dosnt have that much more than Batman so all that work to have a only little more than Batman good for him

Plus Metropolis isnt the most powerful city in the world it only has Lex its like Dubai it looks nice and it has handful people with alot of money but ultimately that all their is to it

Gotham on the other hand is the New York of DC comics its home to far more Billionares from the old to the new; criminal and otherwise and more money means more power and Gotham is rolling in the stuff (among other things)

@batshrine: not really Lex is really the only game in town when it comes Metropolis

Gotham has Waynes, Kanes, Elliots, Cobblepots, Arkham, the families in Court of Owls, than you have people like Caldwell, Zues and all the mob families and guys like Black Mask so when it comes to money Gotham has Metropolis beat

@lordofthenorth: Lex is hardly the only rich guy in Metropolis, Morgan Edge is another, but those are the only two Superman often tangles with while the rich in Gotham are Batman's rouges.

Orphan from Kansas builds his way up from the age of 10, rich boy Bruce inherits a fortune and makes it bigger. Yes, Lex's accomplishment is no better than Bruce's. #That'saBatmanfan4u

Off-topic. But I find that list humorous that it has Namor at 2 and yet doesn't even have Aquaman on it.

they both have a personal wealth in the billions, so it's not really significant either way who is richer

Also, Pre-flash point Superman confirmed that Bruce's personal wealth exceeded that of Lex Luthor. It's in the Public Enemies storyline, I think Superman/Batman #6.

I think it's safe to assume that's still true, most things carried over in continuity.

In any case considering what Bruce spends his personal wealth on, it would make sense that he is richer.

Agreed, they both get whatever they want, even if its the most expensive thing ever, so why bother, its not like there was, is or will be something they can't get.

@lordofthenorth: Lex is the only famous rich guy we know because Lex is one of the few rich guys Superman fights. It doesn't mean he's the only rich guy in town, Lex is just the richest of the rich. And we know of Gotham's wealthy because they're Batman's rouges so we get to know the other rich people.
