The M-Vest can project illusions to the minds of those in contact with Shade, even turn thoughts solid sometimes. These illusions are affected by the feelings (mostly fear) of those individuals. Shades own stress reactions can also activate the vest.
The vest is also capable of levitation, exploding with a power of a nuclear explosion if attempted to be taken off from its wearer, and creating a protective force field.
