As one of DC’s oldest and greatest heroes, Batman has been rendered by many over the years, in nearly as many different comic book titles, trading card sets, and various other media. This title, evidently operating on the premise of a picture being worth a thousand or so words, presents a sampling of these appearances, on covers of issues in his many different ongoing series; trade paperbacks; magazines; and more throughout history. Indeed, his roots aren’t forgotten—covers dating all the way back to Bob Kane’s classic from Detective Comics #31 are included.
