Now i'm a big fan of Damian, but after a few years of storytelling i feel he should be killed. His death should have the same impact as that of Jason but he should be kept dead.
It would add to Bruce's psyche and even Dicks for that matter. It would contribute to the Bat mythos.
Thoughts?

Nah, I don't think so. Plus I don't think that Damian and Batman have really connected that much yet, at least IMO.

I can't believe you said that....but I do think it has the potential to be even more meaningful then the death of Jason Todd

He should have never been born or "made".

@entropy_aegis: I'd like it. I love Damian, but yeh, his death would make for a great story. And it would mark the beginning of "Men in Refrigerators".

I don't concur.

No just no. Because somewhere down the line some genius will be like "Hey let's bring him back from the dead!" Making his death somewhat less meaningful than what it should be.

Are you kidding me? Tim was Robin for... I don't even remember how long. Damian has been Robin for a few years, and hasn't actually grown up yet, and already people are saying "he should be killed, it would be a great story". No, it would not be a great story. It would be a cheap throwback to a Death in the Family.

Death in the family was cheaply editorially mandated cause they wanted to get rid of Jason as they felt he was a waste of time. That story had Joker running around as a UN ambassador, shows you how much DC cared about Jason.

So a cheap throwback to a cheap storyline? Even better :P

Damian is the best new character of the decade. Yeah I said it.

Also when you result to the "lets kill this character just because" it proves that the story sucks from the beginning.

Gotta point here.

Damian has already been shown in the future being Batman and he was just as great if not better than Bruce was, IIRC.

#23 Posted by Kallarkz (3300 posts) - 1 year, 10 months ago - Show Bio

I personally would not like to see him die.

@entropy_aegis: Deffinitely no, he's the best Robin, ever.
#26 Edited by okayla (102 posts) - 1 year, 10 months ago - Show Bio

That's such a weak storytelling move, I wouldn't be surprised if it does it.

But killing a character just to force a reaction isn't great storytelling.

The loss of one Robin is enough.
#28 Edited by VenomousDragon (841 posts) - 11 months, 15 hours ago - Show Bio

If he was to die, I think Jason should blow his brains out, like right in front of batman too, but damian needs to be doing something bad, to the point where jason is right in doing so, like...trying to kill bruce..... then BAM!!!! Robin brains all over bruce's face.

#29 Posted by r3d_rob1n (534 posts) - 11 months, 15 hours ago - Show Bio

I would rather he eventually leave the role of Robin behind and move on to try and reform the League of Assassins in a more favorable light. This would be better than him becoming Batman since, lets face it, Bruce will always be Batman.

The "death" of one Robin is enough

yeah no ive grown to like the little guy

#31 Posted by X9 (729 posts) - 11 months, 12 hours ago - Show Bio

No way they'll kill Damian. He's an amazing character and, honestly, if he had a solo title it'd sell better than Red Hood and the Outlaws ¬¬

That need to see someone dead in the Bat Family must come from the fact that the last member who died came back to the living world. Hehe. Nothing against it, though.

Then again, I think Damian has a lot to offer to Batman's universe and DCnU. So I don't see his death coming. Maybe his mother will, not him. Last but not least: I LIKE Damian, so of course I don't WANT him to die.

Damian should never been born. His existence is an abomination

Yeah, I'm cool with this. Also, Jason should've stayed dead. *Digs in in preparation*

#35 Edited by VenomousDragon (841 posts) - 10 months, 29 days ago - Show Bio

@JonesDeini: He could have but he has potential as a character as red hood more than he did as robin.......I wish they picked a better way to bring him back from the dead.....

Really? You're a big fan of Damian?

That's like saying "Hey you. I love your work and I respect everything you do, but I think you should be killed horribly!".

#38 Posted by sethysquare (3804 posts) - 10 months, 26 days ago - Show Bio

I used to hate Damian but recently I started to get his appeal. I do hope he survives Leviathan.

#39 Posted by X9 (729 posts) - 10 months, 26 days ago - Show Bio

I'll tell you what, if Damian dies I'll be really pissed. Personally I think he's one of DC most interesting characters. And the best kid in comics.

And, as crazy as it seems, I think it's easier to "rehab" him than Jason Todd.

#40 Posted by Onemoreposter (2659 posts) - 10 months, 26 days ago - Show Bio

I dig Damien. I say keep him. The character has a ton of potential, which is probably why he's still around after the reboot.

#41 Posted by Illuminatus (9303 posts) - 10 months, 26 days ago - Show Bio

He shouldn't die. His potential as a character is quite vast.

#42 Edited by entropy_aegis (12319 posts) - 10 months, 21 days ago - Show Bio

I changed my mind,he should live on.

#43 Posted by thespideyguy (1454 posts) - 9 months, 10 days ago - Show Bio

We don't kill every robin.
Also why not let the infant in batman birth of the demon be killed, and it be revealed that damian  is a different infant.

#44 Posted by Lone_Wolf_and_Cub (2624 posts) - 9 months, 10 days ago - Show Bio

I'm for it, if it's a great story. I neither hate nor love the character. But if it creates a greater Batman I'm all for it.

#47 Posted by batshrine (692 posts) - 9 months, 5 days ago - Show Bio

Honestly if they wanted to give Damian a time out they should not kill him. It would seem very cheap. What I think would be much more impressive is that he should go against everything he was taught and strive for a normal life. I mean we don't get many ex superheroes just being normal citizens. And then whenever a write wants to use him they totally can.

But for now they better not get rid of him

#48 Posted by Hazlenaut (1679 posts) - 9 months, 5 days ago - Show Bio

How about he gets demoted instead?

#49 Posted by Arkhamc1tizen (868 posts) - 9 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

NO

#50 Posted by moonofglass (4 posts) - 9 months, 1 day ago - Show Bio

No, no, no! if he dies, i think bruce won't able to bear the lose of his son (again). And I don't want another "death in the family", because damian is an interesting character and i want to see the character's evolution, how he will grow, and the kind of person he will become.
