    Basically, Ed was right. 0

***This review will contain spoilers*** A few months ago, Ed Brubaker came out and said this was the best Marvel movie ever made. I don't know if he was talking just Disney or all Marvel films ever, but either way he's completely correct.Where to start, where to start...? I don't even know. This movie is absolutely fantastic. It finally feels like the right balance of action, plot, comedy and character development that Marvel has been all over the place (especially recently). As many of us feel T...

    Best Marvel studios movie 0

This movie was great from start to finish. It had great action and one of the best car chases i have ever seen. The winter soldier was great in the film.So was Cap, Widow, Falcon and FuryAs for the bad guy side, it is not what you expect but it really nails what the story is trying to do.Also there was a Dr Strange easter egg (not a spoiler) Ed Brubaker is in it, can you find him?Overall this is my 2nd favourite marvel movie after Spider-man 2 and closely followed by iron man, X2, first class and...

Three Days of the Captain 3

With feature film credits like: Welcome to Colinwood and You Me and Dupree, the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony, don’t exactly have the resume that screams $170 million Marvel tent pole. The work they are more fondly known for, directing episodes of cult “hits” Arrested Development and Community, do point to why Kevin Fiege trusted them with a sequel to Captain America and the key link to Avengers: Age of Ultron. Like Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) ...

A Must See for CBM Fans 0

Found Captain America very enjoyable. I still feel like IM1 was the best of MCU but I would put WS as their second best outing (yes I liked both more than Avengers). WS had the deepest story of any Marvel film to date (imo) and also fewer jokes than IM3 and TDW, which really was refreshing as it helped in keeping the drama more intense.Thought Bucky was a great villain and happy with how they left him at the end of the film. Really felt like Falcon didn't work well on screen and was my least fav...

If you want to punch above your weight, wear heavier gloves 7

There was a rerun of Boston Legal on the air a few weeks ago, featuring a case where a town called Concord, Massachusetts tries to secede from the United States owing to displeasure with what they perceive as the government's flagrant and frequent violations of the Constitution. During the trial, the plaintiff is called to the stand, where he justifies his position by invoking the baseball-and-apple-pie days of his childhood, effectively claiming that the nature of America and America's governme...

    Excellent leap forward. 0

I believe that with the major success of the Avengers movie the follow up have been judged on a much steeper scale. With Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 there was a lot of Pros and Cons for the viewers, but they were both successful at the box office. I think parts of IM3 and T2 took a step back for some viewers (Not me I really enjoyed both), but I believe Captain America: The Winter Soldier took a major leap back in the right direction. It was a non stop thrill ride with action, suspense, and awesome v...

Easily the best film in Phase 2 0

Where do I begin.....This is the Phase 2 film we've all wanted The writers may have been comedy writers, but this...this....this was better than the first one. It is also a film that really felt like it is trying to set something up. Not only Avengers 2, but another future movie. It will also have reprecussion that will be felt wide, as oppose to the somewhat compact ones in Iron Man 3 and Thor Dark World. The twists were pretty unexpected, and the mid credit scene the best since Thanos in Ave...

    A movie about a Hero 0

While being more of a continuation of Marvel's The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier still has enough elements from its predecessor, The First Avenger, to feel like the sequel that it is. Of all the Phase-two Marvel films, so far, this feels the closest to coexisting in the Avengers universe. It still has a bit of the problem of, "Where are the rest of The Avengers?" - but significantly less. Many supporting characters from past Marvel films pop-up here and there, and make reference...

One of Marvels Finest Films 15

It's not a secret that I have been on I'll terms with marvels most recent movies, not so much as for their stories and performances, but more for the fact that they absolutely refused to take certain things seriously, which kind of severed my connection with the movie, because I honestly just didn't care for what happened to anyone, because essentially I know that it didn't matter, no one going to die or anything like that. The Winter Soldier doesn't do that, considering that the movie feels li...

Raises the Bar for Superhero Movies 1

Captain America: The Winter Soldier may not be the perfect Marvel movie, but it is the best of this year's crop, and possibly the best solo Marvel superhero (non-team) movie so far. Why? Because Captain America: The Winter Soldier has learned what all superhero films should learn - that the superhero doesn't make the movie, it should first be a good story - science fiction, mystery, thriller, whatever - and then the superhero should be placed in that story. Too often superhero movies are simply '...

    Marvel Does it Again 5

I finally saw The Winter Soldier today... Talk about being late to the party. I decided it was about time I checked it out considering how much praise I've seen it receive on this site. So let's get to the review. The GoodI'm going to keep this review simple, just 2 sections. Good and bad. Too lazy to do a full professional review at this hour.- Bucky BarnesBucky was the highlight of the film. One of the top 3 most Bad*ss villains to ever appear in a CBM in my opinion.- Adjusting to the 21st cent...
