Before voting I just wonder to verify a few things.

Batman inc is only Vol. 1 in its entire run only?  No Leviathan strikes on top of it? or does Leviathan strikes count with it, since the one-shot was the issues lost because of the 52?
 
R.I.P.  is only the book R.I.P.?  Or does it count the cross-overs, if that is the case would that mean Heart of Hush as well?  Or does also count Final Crisis since Bruces' "Death" really happens in that book.

@Silkcuts: batman inc was my choice, and i personally intended it including leviathan strikes, as i meant the whole first run. (if that's allowed?)

as for RIP, i would say it was just the meat of the story, as in, what would have been included in the trade, seeing as heart of hush is a seperate nomination.

1. Hush

This story-line got me into Bat comics way back when I was a youngen and this was just realised. AMAZING art and all of Bat's baddies coming together, almost pushing Bats over the edge, coming close to actually killing the Joker with his bare hands.

2. The Killing Joke

This is just a given, the story that changed Barabara Gordon's life whilst also delivering some thought provoking, high concept writing. And the never answered question...was Batman leaning on the Joker's shoulders....or strangling him?

3. Dark Victory

Awesome art with some great twists and old school style.

4.Flashpoint: Knight of Vengeance

Arguably the best Flashpoint series (Including Flashpoint). It was a complete surprise how amazing it was and only unfortunately 3 issues long. I would love to see this return someday with the same creative team. DC 52 third wave hopefully. Great twist on the Wayne family dynamic.

5. Batwoman: Elegy

Amazing art. Flawless writing and unbelievable art. It's just perfect.

I don't really know the story of the killing joke issue but i have seen the cover a lot of times online

I actually met a male Korean one time at a bookstore and thought I was the worker and asked me if he could see inside the graphic novel. so i told him yes he can but that we have to go look for somebody who works at the bookstore and ask permission. So we went to the counter and ask and was given permission to see the inside of the novel. he told me that it was the cover that caught his eye online and that it was gonna be the first time for him to buy a graphic novel. He further added that the graphic novel was expensive and i told him that graphic novels are usually a series of issues put into one book so it might actually be cheaper but i'm not sure about that particular graphic novel that he wanted to buy because I was more of a marvel comics fan and i'm not sure if "the killing joke" graphic novel was composed of number of issues. He said he just came here to the philippines to study english and will travel to australia the following week to work for a few years.

I wish I could have just ask for his number and make friends with him and told him about this site. Well i thought he felt the same way because when he actually went out of the store, he saw me still inside and went back to shake hands and thank me.

But I just thought it felt awkward to ask so i didn't which i regret. : (

So when i saw "the killing joke" on the list, i voted for it.

Anyway, I think, the Batman story that i kinda know was about Batman vs alien/s. But i really just want to give the 5 votes to "the killing joke" since it kinda gave me an unforgettable story

i've never actually been a massive fan of killing joke... don't know why. i might read it again soon.

i prefer it over dark knight returns though... i always liked year one the most out of the classics.
