Though Marvel UK had begun publishing Marvel's weekly titles in the UK from the early 1970s, rather than licensing out the rights to do reprints to other companies, for several years production of Marvel annuals in the UK were still licensed out, increasingly becoming a co-production between Marvel UK and Grandreams, so that by the late 1970s it was common to see an annual identify itself as "Marvel/Grandreams". However, earlier in the 1970s the rights resided with World Distributors, who were responsible for starting a short-lived line of Avengers Annuals.
