    1. Hop On the Welfare Wagon!: (public service message from Superman) A man tells Mr. Stanton that Superman will speak for their hospital fundraiser. He responds "Who needs a hospital in this town? I can take care of myself. I'm not giving a red cent, Superman or no Superman." Just then, Superman shows up saying he "has the wrong slant" and explaining that Americans have always helped each other when sickness and trouble came.
    2. The Hot-Rod Chariot Race: (Superboy) Vic Varley is a rich boy who loves racing his hot-rod but his reckless races keep putting people in danger. meanwhile, in school, Clark's history teacher (Dr. Whitley) is talking about Roman chariot races and how he personally dug up the helmet of Ben Hur. The printable walks in and explains that a group of experts have declared Ben Hur was fictional so the helmet must be fake and unless Whitley can prove otherwise the bad press will force the school to fire him. Superboy decides to go back to Rome in 50 A.D. and find Ben Hur. He takes Vic with him to keep him from causing trouble while he is gone. Superboy asks about Ben Hur but no one there has ever heard of him. Meanwhile, Vic is overheard talking about stripping a chariot down like a hot rod to make it faster, and the owner of one offers to let him do it and drive it in the race. While continuing to search, Superboy notices that the sword held by a gladiator named Quintus Arrius has been sabotaged so it will break on the first strike. intervening to save the gladiator from a lion, he learns that Quintus needs money to enter the big race. Flying to a nearby farm, Superboy harvests all their crops in exchange for some grain, milk, and honey. he then makes and sells first popcorn, then ice cream to get the money. Superboy overhears some gamblers saying everyone is betting on Vic to win and during the race he finds Vic's chariot has been sabotaged. Quintus sacrifices his lead to save Vic and Superboy quickly attaches a jet motor he made to the bottom of his chariot, allowing him to win the race. He then reveals his true name is Ben Hur and the name is engraved on the Golden hemet he is awarded as well as a victory monument. Returning to the present, Superboy tells the experts where to find the monument while Vic swears off racing.
    3. Private Pete: (humor strip by Henry Boltinoff) Pete is told to report for a 20-mile hike with his full field pack and he shows up with it in a baby carriage.
    4. The Man Who Was Aquaman's Double: (Aquaman) Aquaman happens to find a man named Tommy who looks just like him but can't swim. After helping him get a girl by saving her while pretending to be him, Aquaman switches places with Tommy and uses him to trick a group of thieves.
    5. Professor Eureka: (humor strip by Henry Boltinoff) The professor makes a chess-playing robot but when another scientist comes to see it he tells him he took it apart because it always beat him at chess.
    6. Formulas for Space: (Johnny Quick) Johnny is abducted by aliens who plan to test him to see what weapons will work best on earth men. he finds his speed formula doesn't work as well in their alien atmosphere so he starts changing it randomly, giving him different powers.
    7. Sailers Under The Sea: (text story)
    8. The Three Champion Archers: (Green Arrow) An Archery competition ends in a three-way tie. When word of a prison break reaches Green Arrow and Speedy they propose hunting the fugitives under their supervision as a way to break the tie.
