X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13420 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Savage She-Hulk Will Join The X-Men?
Again, what the heck is going on? Will the X-Men be opening their doors to non-mutants now? Lyra isn't a mutant. She might not be a 'normal' person but she's the genetically engineered daughter of Thundra and Hulk. I don't think that would make her a mutant.
Could it be that the number of mutants is so low the X-Men need to allow non-mutants to join to fill in the ranks and pages of all the different X-titles? I'm not sure where this is going but it's going to be interesting to see how and why these other characters are joining up with the X-Men. I have to admit that I don't see this as a long term thing but you never know. Perhaps instead of seeing the same half dozen characters in the pages we'll actually see some different ones running around. Since Professor X is no longer running things, does the team still have to consist of only mutants? Can't we have non-mutant characters fighting for the dream of mutants and humans living together? Wouldn't them being on the same team further support that?
I wonder what character we'll see next appearing as an X-Men.
WHAT'S GOING ON?! D:
I like how they took that dumb tiara thing off of She-Hulk, though...it looked dumb to me.
WHAT IS GOING ON?
(Movie announcer voice) After the Xmens world is shaken to its very foundation in Second Coming.. THEY GET TO PARTY WITH SPIDER MAN AND SHE HULK! YEAH! :D
lame.
@Decept-O Mutants are born mutants. And im sure its nothing but a team up for alittle while.
And maybe @G-Man is right. Numbers are low. But i dont see how this helps.
Siege and Heroic Age.
the only reason the mutants had to go to Utopia in the first place was because of Norman Osborn.
as of Herioc Age, where the hero's will now lead, they will be accepted back into humanity, and the X-Men
will once again be the team it used to be. the one that protected humanity and worked together with the other
groups and hero's.
"Why not add "non-mutant" characters? Spider-Man has been, for lack of a better term, "mutated" due to the radioactive/genetically altered spider bite, and Lyra has been genetically altered or mutated, so in a sense, these characters have some degree of mutation. "
That's right they both have been mutated one way or another...

Nate Grey/X-Man was made in a tube and he's still considered a mutant... why not Lyra?
I think this campaign is more flash than substance. But if the X-Men do let in non Mutants, then that might speak to bigger issues in the Mutant community. As far as Lyra goes, while she was genetically engineered, this does not exclude her from being considered a "Mutant". Most notably Nate Gray and X-23 where genetically engineered. Namor is considered a mutant because he was born with abilities that neither normal humans or Atlanteans are born with. The Beyonder is an Inhuman Mutants since he was born with abilities before being exposed to the gas that gives normal Inhumans powers. Lyra was born with abilities that neither Thundra or Bruce Banner (The Hulk) have and thus could be considered a mutant. Of course my whole argument could be thrown out the window by Marvel simply telling us whether these individuals possess an x-gene. That'll then tell us whether Skaar could be considered a mutant and a number of other characters.
Maybe they are taking the route that if you ever have been judge or discriminated because something you have or are, you're can be an X-Man
So, Marvel are now officially making EVERYONE into X-Men... kinda makes the whole 'fighting to protect the world that hates & fears them' a bit redundant now. Who's next? The Human Torch?

Oh come on no way Human tourch will make it on.... I was thinking more Hawkeye or THor... Oh Thor on the X-men XD. We could have like an X-Vengers, Wolverine, Spiderman, Thor, Ironman and Hawkeye... How I love marvel and the X-titles.
I agree with those that are thinking that this will be at the most a temporary gimmick. Granted, it seems weird to have non-mutants on the team, but it does sort of make sense. The X-Men have always been about integrating into humanity, and finding a way to coexist peacefully, and what better way than to start with the team? I doubt it'll actually go anywhere of worth, unfortunately. And guys like Spidey will always stick up for mutantkind, so why not?
Fraction's still gonna be writing this though, right? His X-Men is.....meh. The man does better on solo books than team books.
" @xerox-kitty said:They're right after Human Torch & the other 'Fantastic' three... 'cause no-one is fantastic unless they're an X-Man :p"So, Marvel are now officially making EVERYONE into X-Men... kinda makes the whole 'fighting to protect the world that hates & fears them' a bit redundant now. The only She-Hulk we need is Jennifer Walters. I Don't mind Lyra, but I don't like her being called Savage She-Hulk, and I don't see why they needed Red She-Hulk....
she been part of the avengers and fantastic four I guess it was not really a surprise that she hulk was going to be in the X-men next.
" @Decept-O said:Because Nate Grey was cloned from the DNA of two people who possessed an X-Gene. Thundra and Hulk do not possess the X-Gene, so they're not Marvel's definition of a mutant. They're mutates/meta-humans."Why not add "non-mutant" characters? Possessing an X-Gene is what makes someone a mutant.
" Brick, brick, brick... I smell a gimm... "yup.........its some heroic age gimmick I bet.....itll last 2 maybe 3 issues
Look, I am not sure on wtf is going on. But someone knows for sure. Whether it is good or bad is still to be determined. Keep your fingers crossed.
I would understand if it was a character that has frequent interactions with the X-Men. Namor made sense since he's arguably the "first Mutant". Spider-Man runs into these guys all the time, especially Wolvie, so I don't mind if he hangs around for a bit.
Where the hell does Llyra fit into this mix? Easy, she doesn't! Playing red-rover with the Avengers is fine, but not with completely unassociated heroes. Black Panther as Storm's husband = welcome to the X-Men, Captain Britain as Psylocke's twin bro = welcome to the X-Men, The Incredible Hulk's genetically engineered daughter with self-help subscribing Thundra........um, who invited you?
" @geraldthesloth said:She doesn't appeal to me, everything i've read with her in it has been boring and made me put the book down right away her character is a snoozefest." I'm getting sick of Lyra.. "Why? "
" @geraldthesloth: I haven't read too much with her. But I enjoyed her mini series. "I didn't that mini is the reason I haven't enjoyed the character..it was boring, so is her in the Fall of the Hulks
Well, I was wondering what was going to happen with "non-mutants" joining the X-Men since Cloak & Dagger were put on in Dark X-Men......I really don't see a problem with the idea of non-mutants and mutants joining up to fight for the dream.
After all the "X" = extra right? So far all these people have something extra going for them.
" @Nobody said:Savage She-Hulk was epic. Mostly because of Noh-Varr but whatever:P" @geraldthesloth: I haven't read too much with her. But I enjoyed her mini series. "I didn't that mini is the reason I haven't enjoyed the character..it was boring, so is her in the Fall of the Hulks "
