I would say there is no reason for Diana not to carry a sword and shield, other than Marston would disapprove. But I agree that it shouldn't be her primary offensive tool. Same with the shield, she can carry it, but should only use it when the bracelets are not enough.

And it would be nice if they showed that there is a difference to Diana when using the sword or shield. Like if they took away the Aegis ability Diana used to get from crossing the bracelets... which I dont think has been used in years, and instead uses the shield for nearly the same effect.
