    Proper Japanese Title: ベルサイユのばら

    Originally serialized in Margaret. This series is well-known for elevating shojo manga in general and being one of the first examples of manga to be used in Japan for educational purposes.

    The first ten volumes of this series were the original collections, having been later reprinted in various forms numerous times over in later decades. The eleventh and twelfth volumes are additional material that was printed when the entire original collections were reprinted forty years after their first printing.
