From the sky to the ground
This issue at times feels like it is veering too much away from the overall tone of the series, in that it feels like it is glorifying war as opposed to condemning it, but in the end it wraps up fairly well with a message that has been seen before but is always nice to see. The platoon are forced to get a navy pilot back back behind friendly lines after a rescue mission for him fails. To get to that point though there are a lot of moments of bravado as opposed to the grittiness more common in this series. When it does get around to the more meaningful part of the story it takes off in the usual manner, with the ending reminding the reader how much simple things can be valued in war and how much gratitude is worth. Still a decent issue overall though the shine of the earlier issues is wearing off by this point.
