    Like a conquering hero

There is a lot going on this issue.  Ray and Taren almost have to fight some rats, then they are saved and prepared for gladiatorial combat, then they are rescued and escape to the jungle where they have to fight a lizard.  Finally intercepted by Taren's men, Ray is given refuge by Taren where the background of their people is told (from both sides as it were).  A new revolt is planned with Ray being chosen to lead it (he has long since figured out how to speak their language.)  Meanwhile back in the regular world Jean seems finally to have given up on the idea that Ray is coming back.  As opposed to the first issue the story here falters a bit (especially with the interjection of a recount of the previous issue) but with the same basic tone it maintains the same novelty as the first one - that of the Atom set in a barbarian world.
