I have to pay tribute to one of the characters I grew up with, and my favorite superhero alongside Batman. So without further a due, here are some of DCAU Superman's best feats:

Good thread.
Don't forget his punches are supersonic as well.
I believe his strongest punch was, yeah
@modernww2fare: I mean regular punches. If you watch during the Brainiac (Luthor) fight, the impact of Clark's hits have a distinct supersonic design. I don't think it's just an animation thing since I never noticed it with other characters including WW.
His strongest one was probably closer to hypersonic or somewhere in between.

Oh yeah that's true! I believe the same goes for Captain Marvel when they fought
Cool thread. Don't want to ruin in but Superman from the DC Animated Movies is above this. Hopefully people will stop low balling DC Animated Characters.
@never_give_up: which DC Animated movie? He's different in each one
Because it had limits and they were well used in the writing.
Also it help to him to go beyond his limits and make him more heroic and more human, the important aspects.
Not the powers.

Superman/Batman Apocalypse, Superman/Batman Public Enemies, Superman Unbound, All Star Superman and him being the most impressive in Superman vs The Elite. Even though he has insane feats in the others such as surviving a supernova in Superman Unbound.

Character-wise, yeah, he was better in STAS. But he had REALLY weak moments there too, like getting his ass kicked by a cop in a helicopter:

And that what matter to me.
The important part of SuperHuman its human.

The concept of the superhuman is quite popular in science fiction, where superhumans are often cyborgs, mutants, aliens, telepaths, the product of ongoing human evolution or genetically engineered. The greatest publicity for the concept are comic book superheroes, such as Superman (an alien).

I don't see how those punches on Luthor were close to subsonic at all. The closest he came to subsonic punches was after his 'World of Cardboard' speech against Darkseid or
To be fair, there are plenty of comic writers who have succeeded in making Superman a relatable yet inspirational human character whilst also being a mighty alien powerhouse too. It's not impossible to strike a balance, though I do agree the characterisation of the DCAU Superman was pretty good. And personally I think they balanced Superman's power level and characterisation well in Season 2 of Justice League and JLU.

I remember the executive producers, writers and other crew of Justice League admitting in an interview that they relied too much on the same formula for establishing how powerful the villain was. Namely said villain owning Superman in battle. They managed the villain's threatening status and Superman's power quite well after Season 1.

I watched it recently. They both seem to be on similar levels.
@modernww2fare: Season 1 Episode 7 where Metallo escapes prison, Superman lifts a MASSIVE rock and blocks up the wall the was broken for him to get out. He seems to do it with relative ease too.

I made a gif of that, but I can't seem to upload it here
Wow I'm feeling real confident im my soon to be tournament im creating with animated characters i presumed supes would beat thor but seeing this respect thread it's is the complete opposite and thor stomps supes ironic right

how?
You should still include them here, Superman did create shockwaves with those punches and they're good striking feats. But were they subsonic? No not at all.

Hmm yeah the EMH Avengers do seem more powerful than the DCAU Justice League. An ironic turn of events considering the power discrepancy in the comic book versions.

They had one thing in common though. Both DCAU Supes and EMH Thor, despite the power difference, had some equally embarassing low showings like Thor getting owned by Cap when he first appeared and Batman judo-throwing Superman.
@spiderman1997: Well the power of human overrating doesn't seem to be going away from fiction any time soon :P

Too much of that as it is across all fictional mediums.

Coming back to this comment, I remember his Justice Lord counterpart punching Doomsday so hard it caused shockwaves that shattered windows and pushed back a news Helicopter. Sounds subsonic to me

It was Justice Lord Superman and Doomsday's combined punch impact which caused those shockwaves. It was a joint feat, Superman didn't do it himself.
