It's good to have paranoid friends

    The Good

Coming from the cliff-hanger last chapter (almost 3 months ago), it's exciting to see how our hero can figure out how to save the day. With an Omega level threat scenario, we also get to see some of the other leagues and how well they work together. Now with Scott Snyder also writing the current Batman series, it’s cool to see how his Batman is much different at the same time we still get the feeling that he’s still the same uncertain guy from Zero Year.

Fans of Lois/Clark dynamic might be in for a little treat as we see how Superman interacts with her in this chapter. It’s not to say that Superman Wonder Woman story is not fun to tackle (it is) but with the Lois/Clark interaction, you can really feel some sort of history or like being at home and watching a classic movie.

In this chapter we get to see Wraith in action more than the previous issues, we also get a few panel of him going toe to toe with our hero. Wraith is a really intriguing character with a lot of potential and hopefully we get to see this in the coming chapters. It’s curious to know what goes through his mind and why he acts the way he does. The end of this book gives us two cliff-hangers that will surely make you want to read the next chapter immediately.

The art in this book is exceptional; Jim Lee’s pencil work is stunning and really is worth the price of admission. Of course Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair do a fine work to bring this book come to life.

    The Bad

Although a great book on its own, some minor gripes are encountered like the constant delays that make it hard to remember where we left the previous chapter and the fact that, 2 issues ago, we had a Luthor/Olsen centric chapter and haven’t seen them since.

    Overall:

This is a really great book but the constant delays make it a little hard to enjoy this book that has a flowing story. It’s still worth the wait though with a story and art like this. Scott Snyder and Jim Lee are really stretching their creative muscles on this book. Superman fans or comic book fans in general should try check this series out.
