Summer's powers manifested during the evnents of Endless Winter. She subcounsciously covered herself in an ice coccoon to protect herself. Believing that she could be part of the Frost King's family, his army attempted to abduct her. Luckily Summer was saved by the Titans who helped her gain some control of her powers.
After the Frost King was defeated, Summer became one of the first students of the Roy Harper Academy. There she formed a close friendship with Gorilla Gregg and her roommate Alinta. Summer proved to have a great control of her powers and leadership skills when she rallied her fellow classmates to fight the Suicide Squad when they attempted to break in the Tower and kidnap Alinta.
During the summer holidays, Summer took some of her classmates to a small town she used to go in vacation with her family, but the locals acted in a strange weird. While investigating what was happening in the town, Gregg dissapeared. Soon the students found him along his uncle Gorilla Grodd, the later using his powers to mind control the town and create an army. Grodd soon took control of the minds of the students, with the exception of Summer that was protected by Gregg.
With Gregg's help, Summer was able to escape and call the Titans to help. Gregg and Summer were able to work together and stop Gorilla Grodd's plot.
During the attack of Nevermore and Red X, Summer led her classmates in the evacuation of the Tower and to stop it's destruction.
