This is how she came into contact with the X-Men.

Young Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat, was one of her first and most notable students. She and Kitty became good friends and it was not long before she was introduced to professor Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters. Her good relationship with Kitty sometimes gave Storm a feeling of jealousy. This because Storm and Kitty had been best friends and a special, sort of big sister/little sister relationship. It was not long after that Stevie began giving physical educational classes to Kitty's then time teammates, the New Mutants at the Xavier Mansion. These classes went on for a couple of years, and Stevie became a trusted sight for all those residing in the X-mansion.

Stevie became one of the persons who where captured by the villain Arcade, together with other close friends and relatives of the X-men. Luckily she was soon rescued by the X-men, totally uninjured. Over the years Stevie had been become a close ally to the X-men and other mutant teams like the New Mutants. She tried to stay out of fights (witch where regular and frequent in the time Stevie stayed with the mutants). This worked out most of the time, although Stevie has been a participant in some fights.

Her most notable involvement with the X-men, and one of her last major appearances to date, was when she and Professor Xavier had to stay away from a Shadow King mind-controlled Colossus. Stevie helped Professor Xavier stay one step ahead of Colossus, until they could reach the X-mansion's Danger Room . There Colossus was freed from his mind-controlled state, just in time.

Stevie the wounded after an assassination attempt on Charles Xavier's life -- nursing the wounded caused by the battle.

Stevie appeared on the wedding of Scott Summers and Jean Grey and is back working at her dance studio.
