Yeah, because this will totally sell well. With due respect to this team, if Marjorie Liu's last, excellent Black Widow series didn't sell, then why will this?
I quite liked it, although one of my gripes was that Jane Foster ended up with the aether near the beginning. It felt too coincidental that she's the one to discover it, given that a) she has a connection to Thor and Asgard and b) it presumably would have taken Malekith a long time to acquire it on his own.
I was going to make some comments regarding most individual titles, but CBF'd. That list is way too long and I'm too lazy.
So in summary:
Huzzah for stories set in the past! Everyone likes retcons which will be forgotten within three years, right?
All-New Avengers. Urgh. Just because All-New X-Men was successful it doesn't mean that you can copy+paste the formula and expect it to be successful.
Shit, Invaders looks good. Can't decide between it and New Warriors. Ooh, or X-Factor, come to think of it.
According to Uncanny Avengers, someone will die. Big whoop. Not only will the death inevitably be reversed, but it will lack all impact because characters drop dead left, right, and centre these days.
If Fantastic Four is being cancelled for good (as in, not getting a new renumbered series), then that's fucking dumb. I know it's not the most popular series, but this is the series which more or less started the Marvel Universe. Add in the fact that the Lee/Kirby, Byrne, and Hickman runs were all really, really, good, and Marvel would be idiotic to get rid of the title.
I like the idea of the British Marvel characters coming back, but pretty much no one knows anything about them, meaning that no one will pick up the series, meaning that it'll get cancelled. Nice idea though.
Black Widow's getting a new series. Because all of her previous ones have lasted sooooo long.
“THE EXTINCTION OF THE HUMAN RACE begins NOW!”, says Avengers A.I. Hey everyone, how memorable was Remender's final arc of Secret Avengers, which more or less did a similar thing? How much impact did that actually have on the Marvel Universe? Yeah, the same thing is going to happen here.
TL;DR: The comic book industry could be a lot better but we have to settle for what we get.
