As we learn from this first part; Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster try to sell their comic strip pitch of Superman during the Great Depression, with no luck. But then, when National Comics (later known as DC Comics) decides to sell brand new comic books instead of reprinting them, Siegel & Shuster's Superman is choosen, with great success. This leads to another creation of a superhero by Bob Kane; Batman.
