it's funny how many times they re-establish the 'potential' Iceman has, only or a different writer to turn him into a young inexperienced fighter who's easily disabled in battle. Thankfully the new Wolverine & The X-Men looks like they're trying to push his abilities a little further. (although I personally wouldn't want to see him take on the likes of Ms Marvel or Thor).

Yeah I can't see them making him so powerful that he could possibly take on Thor. I would like to see him being written consistently though

ok, i admit that might of been pushing it, saying he could maybe rival Thor, but if you remember, when Emma Frost took control of his body and powers, not even the combined might of X men Gold Team could beat him, and they had some pretty heavyweights in there! all im saying is that i think he COULD become one of the Marvel Universes powerhouses if written right!!! and i do agree with the fact that he is constantly re-written as a young, inexperienced fighter, even though he was one of the first X men.

i was thinking what if he got strong enouh to cover the whole city full of ice

He's most definitely one of the most powerful but I think they portray his strength more with AOA Iceman than in the regular 616 universe. Bobby in AOA makes 616 looks like a he barely uses his powers

I love the new aspect of his powers as well in Wolverine and the X-Men, although just having him in some kind of spot-light is great. I really enjoy his character and any development of it is wonderful.

The thing about Iceman is he pretty much can't be killed. Does he have the power output to beat someone like Thor, questionable. So, the answer isn't certain.

Not quite sure where I have read that iceman is immortal bunnie.

@bunnieswithtophats: yeah he can do that thing where he instinctively changes into his ice form to avoid death. and in regards to him being able to match thor in power, technically he can control all forms of moisture, so what if he made the water in every cell in thor's body expand and then freeze? in my book that would mean death or serious injury to a god! and he could destroy the planet if he wanted to by freezing everything so..... thoughts?

then why does this not happen to Thor when he enters space...its called invulnerability....Iceman has never used this ability against someone whose very physiology protects them from extreme changes in temperature.
