Ghost Rider #65

"The Lair of the Loan Shark" is a filler story that works to show the dynamic between Johnny Blaze and supporting characters Red Fowler and Cynthia Randolph. Fowler is indebted to a loan shark who calls himself "The Loan Shark," but defamiliarizes readers from the stereotypical mobster by wearing a cape with a high collar and a prosthesis with a long rapier over his left hand. Tension between Fowler and Blaze adds to the story. The issue is significant, though, because by the end of the story, Fowler becomes aware Blaze's dual existence as the Ghost Rider and their relationship changes, which can be seen in later issues.
