Jurassic Park: Lost World or Jurassic Park 3?

Lost world. At least it wasn't a complete piece of crap like JP3 was.

JP3 Spinosaurus was pretty cool. Lost World raptor scene is pretty cool.

I like the raptor scene in Lost world..but that's it really, they completely changed Malcolm's character and gave him a black daughter cause..you know, we can fufill the kid and minority quota simultaneously! JP3, I'm still mad that the Spinosaurus beat the T Rex..but, it's the lesser of two evils. I vote JP3.

The Lost World by far...The Lost World is an underrated movie that is actually a lot smarter than it's predecessor. It has FAR better acting, FAR better character, FAR cooler dinos, FAR better entertainment value and FAR more story (And by far better story I mean it HAS a story) than Jurassic Park III.

Jurassic Park III is right up there with Batman & Robin and The Sandlot 2 for the worst sequels of all time. Horrible acting, characters acting out of character (Dr Grant hates dinosaurs now after saying how majestic they were in JP1...Okay), horrible story with plot-holes that a 3 year old would find insulting, boring action...Oh yeah, and the Spinosaurus sucks more than Bat-nipples. The ONLY good thing about that movie was the cool new raptor designs! I am a HUGE Joe Johnston fan (All of his other movies range from decent to masterpieces) but this is a black stain on an otherwise great career for him.

I thought Jurassic Park: the Lost World was an absolute train wreck. I know part of me was disappointed that they didn't stay true to the novel, but there was a lot that went wrong in the film. Remember the cargo ship that brought the T-Rex to San Diego? How did the men on the ship die? There was like a bloody arm/hand holding on to the wheel, but the bridge wasn't crushed/damaged at all and the T-Rex was still in the hold?! Awful.

And T-Rex attacks San Diego?? That's inspired and fresh.

On the plus side: I thought the poachers scenes were pretty solid. And the film did have Vince Vaughn. And Malcom Reynolds is always funny.
