Guitar Comercial...pretty though

About the only thing good I can say about this book is that it was pretty. The art was outstanding. The images were vivid and the contrast in colors between the characters was interesting, and at least encouraged you to keep turning the page. The first image I saw with the Seraph holding a guitar instantly made me think of Icarus, Sam and Paige Gunthrie’s little brother, from X-Men. (read “In The Arms of An Angel…available in TPB.)
There isn’t a whole lot to do with the plot. It is your basic battle between good and evil. There are good guy seraph angels, and there are fallen angels. They do mix up some popular story ideas into one book. From what I ascertain, this is Spawn/Legion/Constantine type story mixed in with Green Lantern….only instead of rings, they use GUITARS! Not just any guitars. The team on this book or the publisher seems to have found a way to leak advertising into their comics. They are sure to put ads in multiple spots of the issue insuring you know they are the guitars featured in the book.
The writing is week and uninteresting, as an introductory issue this was definitely a flop. The clincher at the end, well the spoil it on the next page with an interview.
So all we have here is a Beautiful guitar commercial in comic form. Don’t waste your money, unless you are into guitars and like to touch yourself looking at hunky angels.
