Starts to Hit a Stride
After what I saw as a rough start, Daredevil begins to pick up the pace with this second issue, dwelling less on the negative and more on the fun and exciting. Much like the start of the previous series, this issue sees Daredevil take on another hero, although this one isn't nearly as well known. Shroud seems like an interesting character right now, and the way that he is developed makes me curious as to where this current plot thread goes. Our side characters are also a bit stronger here, as they seem to exude a bit more personality. However, I still don;t find them adequate replacements for Foggy as of yet. The art and writing are as good as ever, it's only the plot itself that has me concerned. We seem to be frequently dwelling on the same handful of topics, taking away from the fun-loving nature that juxtaposed all the depressing and difficult, making this not as enjoyable of a read. Also, it feels like it goes by a smidge too quickly. However, I am excited to see where Waid goes with this.
