Review: Bruce Wayne; The Road Home: Batgirl #1 0

Batgirl skirmishes with a mysterious assailant who seems to posses all the powers of Amazo. His actual identity, though,  will greatly test her character.  The Good This is actually pretty good as a character portrait and it's interesting to see a cape in Batman's mythos who isn't an extreme personality. I particularly liked her cute little outbursts; how she apologizes to Bruce while running away and then how she shouts "Don't do drugs" after trouncing the goons in an inspired Goldilocks extend...

How is Stephanie part of Bruce's plan and how will he test her 0

Cover The cover art is always good and I think all the covers are supposed to make a bigger picture because I see Ra’s Al Gaul’s cape in some of the picture. Story Stephanie is fighting a man who she is way over head to fight. The man runs away but, Stephanie is not hurt. Oracle tells Steph that she should stay away from him and maybe leave it to someone else and Steph promises she will leave it alone but, of course with her fingers crossed behind her back. So, she asks for Proxy’s help and beat...

    What a good Story! 1

I'm not a big reader of Bat girl.  Not for any reason in particular, perhaps I never got that beginning issue and therefore just never got into it.  But I do know a lot about her based on reading the back stories.  So I really loved the story in this issue.  It dealt with so many things that have been going on since Bruce left.  I really loved Stephanie's monologue at the end.  The art was pretty good, but especially at the beginning of the issue it could have been MUCH better.  By the en...

    Bruce's perspective on Batgirl 0

Now that Bruce Wayne is back, does he feel the same way about Stephanie in the past and take the bat mantle from her?  Pros: For those who haven't jumped in the Batgirl series, this is a great start. What's great about this one shot is that Stephanie's personality is still intact thanks to Bryan Miller. Compared to the other one shots I read so far, this one will probably be the less serious, since it mixes humor into it. Stephanie always been the spontaneous type ever since ...

    A Test! I Demand a Test! 0

The Good: I love the concept and execution of The White Casebook. The little flashback at the start was an excellent lead-in to the story. Batgirl's fight with The Insider was actually seriously awesome, even though she had absolutely no hope of victory whatsoever. All of the usual Batgirl humor I've come to expect was there and then some. The beginning especially was excellent in this regard. The use of Oracle and Proxy as separate individuals was a nice touch. Proxy isn't just 'Oracle while sh...

Stephanie Brown is... The Batgirl. 2

Story: Bruce is back. He has been watching Stephanie and writing in his journal about her. He reflects on when she used to be Spoiler. Little does Stephanie know that the man she is fighting that she claims is Amazo is Bruce Wayne. She loses her first encounter with him. Stephanie goes to Oracle's office in school and talks about what happened. Oracle wants Stephanie to lay low for a while so she can get others to handle the situation. Stephanie goes against Oracle's word and heads out for troub...

Road Home: Batgirl, You Greet Him With A Slap! 1

With Bruce's return from the Time Stream, how does Stephanie Brown greet him? By Slapping him in the face! With this and more, Bruce is basically taking notes on some of his friends and family. Batman & Robin (Dick and Damian) was the first in Bruce Wayne Road Home, and then Red Robin (Tim Drake), all who have been fit and qualified to work with Bruce Wayne continuing his war on crime as Batman. That event will start this week on November! As Bruce has returned how will his return effec...
