Exhibit D:
Morrison already established Satan in one Batman story way back in "Batman: Gothic"
"Son of the devil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHAHHAAHHHAHAAHAHAAHAAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :PIs the villain behind Batman R.I.P the devil himself?
Exhibit a:
Morrison stated that the villain behind this was the greatest mastermind and manipulator Batman would ever encounter. Who is better for the role than Satan himself?
Exhibit b:
The "red and black" that is so often mentioned during the storyline are often associated with the devil, as he is often drawn with them as the main colors.

well I made a post of this under the Final Crisis Forums so it's only fair I share this with you guys too.
I read "Rokks" review of Batman #681 on his site and he's got this really cool idea as to how RIP connects with Final Crisis
Now I do have a really insane idea that maybe the Devil is Darkseid. After all, Darkseid is considered to be a pure source of evil. And the monk’s eyes turn red which suggests that he is under the control of Darkseid. That would open the possibility for Dr. Hurt to be Desaad in human form.
Maybe Darkseid has targeted Batman as a serious threat in his ability to take over Earth during Final Crisis. That Bruce’s knowledge of death and pure evil from the Thogul ritual would allow him to come up with a way to defeat the Anti-life equation and Darkseid’s effort to make Earth into a new Apokolips. That would explain why Bruce said that when he saw the Devil that there was fear in his eyes. This could be a hint that Darkseid is afraid of Batman ruining his plans over in Final Crisis
what do ya think?
"Nighthunter said:Good post man."already posted my idea lol"i was hoping you would have posted it before me actually :)"
lol nah, I don't check that page
but I did think of the monk being related to darkseid for a second, mostly because of the red eyes but desisted of it because it could easily be taken as a color effect

After reading the last issue im kinda confused(espeacially the last couple pages), so did Bats die or what?
"After reading the last issue im kinda confused(espeacially the last couple pages), so did Bats die or what?"
Yeah, he died when the helicopter crashed.
I wish I had big budget, because i would have boughtin all of the Final Crisis and Secret Invasion issues.
"Tim is only seventeen and is ruined as a character"1.) How is Tim "ruined as a character"?
2.) Tim's age doesn't matter.
remember Tim Drake? the Nightwing fanboy that made crack jokes and enjoyed being a superhero? the guy that wanted to be the world's greatest detective one day and was lighthearthed?
Well he was replaced for a mini-version of Bruce and became the perfect example of someone who needs therapy

They'd be nigh instoppable.
"I think Grant Morrison himself said Batman wouldn't die in R.I.P., but as far as I remember, "what happens is much worse and is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman""darn, I guess all I can hope for is that in a couple years some new writer wants to bring bruce back and finds a loop hole to get him back.
I loved Batman RIP, mostly Morrison's & Daniel's revamp of the Joker. I'm hoping for more dark villain revamps in the future from Morrison, gawd knows the Mad Hatter could use one. It was also fun musing that it looked like Batman had fashioned a new funny-looking costume from recycled Robinware. lol. I suspect that Bruce will always be the man behind the mask, because some things in life just stay predectable. This whole death thing seems more about rebirth than anything. Who stays dead in comics anyway? Shit, even the Dead Robin came back, he's much cooler now though.
