Report: Suicide Squad Movie May Have Found Its Joker & Harley Quinn

It looks like the movie featuring Task Force X is slowly coming together. Come see which actress and Oscar-winning actor are allegedly being considered for the roles.

After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC/Warner Bros. is going to release Suicide Squad. All that has been officially released is the movie will be written and directed by David Ayer (Fury, End of Watch) and it'll open sometime in 2016. However, there's been a lot of rumors floating around the web. We've heard everything from Jesse Eisenberg may appear as Lex Luthor to Will Smith and Tom Hardy being considered for roles, but the most recent reports are by far the most interesting.

Firstly, Collider claims actress Margot Robbie will play Harley Quinn. Robbie is known for her role in The Wolf of Wall Street and, just like everyone else in the movie, she gave a great performance. Whether she'll able able to be a great Harley Quinn, however, not only relies on her capabilities, but also how the character is written for the movie. Will she be part of the team or working against them? Will she be lovable and devious or downright obnoxious? Only time shall tell.

Secondly, The Wrap claims that Jared Leto "may be under consideration" for the role of the Joker. Leto won an Oscar for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club and he certainly looks the part. Given his role in Dallas Buyers Club, it's clear he can really dedicate himself to a performance and, if you're going to be DC's most popular villain, that's definitely required. Considering Heath Ledger's highly praised performance in The Dark Knight, you'd hope they're very carefully considering who will become the next Clown Prince of Crime, yes? The potential is absolutey there with Leto.

It's pretty reassuring to see the studio's allegedly seeking out critically acclaimed actors for Suicide Squad. Sure, they both have the looks required for the respective characters, but the recent performances by both generates more faith in their range as actors. We'll just have to wait and see if these rumors pan out. If they do, can you picture these two as Joker and Harley Quinn?
