No Surprise, Fox Plans Daredevil Reboot

It's either reboot or lose the franchise.

Back in September, it was reported that Fox was planning on making a "new version" of Daredevil.  Ben Affleck has stated that he has no desire to go back to wearing the costume.  Also it has (surprisingly) been seven years since the movie was released.  We recently found out that will Spider-Man get a reboot and now Daredevil is following suit.

As you probably know,  Fox has the rights to making Daredevil movies.  As part of the deal, they retain the rights, provided they continue to make the movies.  After a period of time, if a new movie isn't made, the rights will revert back to Marvel.  It's not clear what the time limit is.  While Fox has made rumblings about rebooting Daredevil (and Fantastic Four), they haven't really done too much...until now.

Deadline Hollywood reported that Fox plans on bringing Daredevil back to the big screen.  They've hired David Scarpa, the writer of the recent The Day The Earth Stood Still.  The LA Times also reported that former Fox News Corp. executive Peter Churnin will produce the movie.

The question now is how will they approach the project?  Are we going to have to sit through an origin story?  At least the first movie didn't dwell too much on it.  Would it be better to see a younger Daredevil coming to terms with his powers and possibly getting trained by Stick or would it be better to see an established Daredevil running around busting heads?  What villain will he go up against?  The Kingpin?  Bullseye?  The Hand?  Will they go with a younger actor (to try to ensure making a franchise/trilogy)?
