Sorry but you're just a nitpicky comic book purist. The fact that you can't give a single reason why Rockets accent matters other then "he was created with an accent" proves how the accent means jack. You can't give one reason why the accent matters. It is not a key essential part of the character or adds anything to the character at all it's just an accent take away the accent and nothing changes about a character you are just nitpicking to the fullest degree because you want a reason to complain but don't have a viable one. That's like saying Star Lord isn't Star Lord if he's not blonde even though hair color like the accent doesn't add anything to the character at all or is needed to still have the character. This like any other thing he's been in is Rocket Raccoon. It's just him without an accent because the accent doesn't matter and doesn't make the character who he is or add anything to the character at all. You might as well not watch comic book movies period if you're going to be this much of a nitpicky purist no offense.

@thewalkingdeadpool18: So even though this is going to be my film of the year I'm not allowed to say one bad thing about it? Get a grip. Rocky was created to be British because him and the other animals on Halfworld were created to be like the animals in Wind in the Willows and they thought that would have a calming affect on the mental patients. Rocket is British for the same reason Tony Stark has a goatee, Jonah Hex has a scar on his face, Professor X can't walk and Cosmo is Russian. It doesn't "make" the character but it certainly makes them stand out and is still part of them weather you like it or not. And again, Americanizing every character is not cool.

Americanizing every character isn't good but people won't say from now on all the americans are ok because a Raccoon is british.If anything people will complain that the only person they were willing to give a role too who wasn't american was a Raccoon. It's a stupid nitpicky complaint. I complained about Rockets voice because from this trailer it seems inconsistant sounds like a different voice actor each line he had in the trailer. That is a legit complaint you can complain over what you want but if it's not something legit and just something stupid or nitpicky then it's just being a purist. Rocket is a Raccoon he doesn't need an accent to differ himself trust me he's already the most unique character were going to see in a comic book movie.

Like Cosmo. He doesn't need an accent to differ himself he's a freaking talking dog who talks through his mind. But accent actualyl does matter to that character because if you use his actual origin he's a russian dog from a russian space station it would only be logical to make him Russian. If they decided to have another country send him up to space and have him from that country then you wouldn't need the russian accent for the character.
