Awesome Art Picks: Zatanna, Batman, Mister Miracle, and More

The coolest comic book art you won't see in comics.

Each week we search the internet for the coolest comic book art that you won't see in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists even arrange pre-commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.

Reilly Brown posted this detailed young Captain America commission at San Diego Comic-Con on his Tumblr.

Dustin Nguyen posted a Poison Ivy pic on his Tumblr. Say hi to him if you're at FanExpo this weekend.

Rod Reis posted this epic Black Bolt pic on his Tumblr.

Peter Nguyen posted a Gambit pic and one he did for fun on his Tumblr. He'll be at FanExpo this weekend at table P29B

Sean Murphy did this Batman sketch as part of a Kickstarter fulfillment and posted it on his Deviant Art page.

Yildiray Cinar posted a bunch of new art on his Instagram page.

Joel Gomez posted this sketch of Spidey eating a sammich on his Tumblr.

Philip Tan posted more sketches on his Facebook page.

Ryan Stegman posted a Batman commission and a five-minute Harley sketch on his Tumblr. He's also at FanExpo.

Mike Henderson posted more new art on his Instagram page.

Robert Atkins posted this Batman pic he did on his blog. It's been colored by Simon Gough and Robert will have it as a print at upcoming shows.

Mike McKone posted some commissions on his Twitter page.

Agnes Garbowska is at FanExpo this weekend and posted some new sketches on her Tumblr.

Mahmud Asrar is also at FanExpo and posted some pre-show commissions on his Tumblr.

Peter Krause posted a Silver Surfer sketch he started on his Twitter page. He said he might add some color to it later.

Marcio Takara is getting ready for New York Comic-Con. Here's some sketches he posted on his Tumblr. The Rocket Raccon sketch is not finished yet.

Ray-Anthony Height posted an Apocalypse sketch and a pic with Spidey and Midnight Tiger on his Instagram page.

Brett Booth posted a Celestial on his Twitter page.

Denis Medri posted a Spider-Verse Steampunk Spider-Woman and Swamp Thing pic on his Deviant Art page.

Skottie Young posted a couple original drawings on his website. Check out his online store to see what's still for sale.

Todd Nauck did this awesome Mister Miracle and posted it on his Tumblr. This pic, some Kirby pics you've seen above, and many more will go up for auction later through Hero Initiative.

That's it for this week. Hope you enjoyed this week's selection. Let us know which ones you thought were groovy. We'll have more awesome art next time.

Black Canary- Green Arrow and Mister Miracle looks awesome. Seriously hope to see Mister Miracle-Big Barda in Robin Rises (Batman and Robin comic) or Godhead (Green Lantern comic) or Darkseid War (Justice League comic)

A pretty good week. Great picture of good ol' fashion Captain Marvel, and some more great stuff by Philip Tan. I'm not a big fan of Sword Art Online (I know, I'm the only one) but his sketch of it is really good.

Also on his Twitter he released a colored image of his Haikyuu sketch.

Don't know why, but I'm compelled to enjoy any render of She-Hulk, ever.

Great selection, as always.

Zatanna - Hottest.Caracter.Ever. (except the new 52 version of her...)

@captainmarvel4ever No, you're not the only one. After hearing both a lot of good and a lot of bad about SAO, I gave it a try and didn't like it.

But I still have Rurouni Kenshin if I need my "sword-heavy manga/anime" fix.

Why is Phillip Tan's Ms. Marvel pressing her breasts together like that in the middle of flying?

Posted by G-Man

@squares: Maybe the person paying for the commission asked for it that way?

Because it's sexy.

Nice to know at this point, I'm not the only person missing Zatanna's costume.

Arrow is introducing another DC Comics character — and he'll have strong ties to Diggle.Medium star David Cubitt, who played Detective Lee Scanlon on the CBS procedural, has landed a meaty guest role in the CW comic-book drama's third season as Mark Shaw, who becomes Manhunter, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Cubitt is slated to appear in the third episode.I also included the various Manhunters from DC comics to show my inspiration. Not included but still used were the various Arrow characters like Slade or Arrow.
