Trade paperback collecting the 1990 Wild Cards mini-series from Epic. Based on the science fiction prose series that started in 1987, this is a four-issue mini-series that gives us a glimpse into the universe of Wild Cards.
An alien inadvertently releases a virus on Earth that becomes known as the Wild Cards Virus. Upon contracting the virus, people get one of several effects: a Black Queen (death), a Joker (physical mutation/deformation), an Ace (super powers), or a Deuce (a joker mutation, but some kind of power- usually something minor like only being visible from others' peripheral vision).
